You mean on the 05-11, its held in place by the bumper? Cause on the 12+ theres the long thin bracket that runs across the front and those pieces are held onto

    Perhaps I worded that wrong.

The bottom headlight trim clicks into both the fender and a plastic tab that mounts under the stock bumper on the 12-15.
On the 05-11 the same piece clicks right into a part on the headlight assembly itself.

Since I don't have that plastic tab I need to come up with another way to mount them.

Well pelfrey got back to me. They said it should be a fairly easy transition that would require basic fab work. I might be updating my front end here in a bit.

I would think youd be able to purchase the piece im talking about? Maybe not? The plastic tab is actually on a metal form that runs across behind the bumper but stays on with the aftermarket . You can see it in this picture. And how it runs all the way under the grill. To the other side.

Ok, my truck is at the dealer right now.

    Symptoms:
    • Tapping/Shuttering Noise when holding a steady speed @ 10 - 40 mph.
    • Rough Idle
    • Burning Oil (4 quarts in about 1300 miles)
    • Lack of power taking off
    • Engine Check Light (code P0101)
    What Toyota told me:
    • I need a new MAF Sensor @ ~$220. Apparently they tested it and it is saying I am taking in more air than I actually am. I told them I would wait until they figured out the real problem.
    • Replace PCV Valve (I just did this and had told them I did this morning but there was a misunderstanding)
    • With news that there is already a new PCV valve, they want me to drive 100 miles and come back to figure out how much oil is burned.
I can see the cost of working with the dealership already adding up by making me come back and probably will charge me another $110 to look for the problem...again. Any help would be appreciated. I am going to make another thread in the 2nd gen section as well.

I don't hate the 05-11 lights but they are not my favorite. I love the updated 2nd gen lights. When I bought my truck in 2012 I had no clue they updated the look. Someone in my same unit bought a '12 red regular cab and parked next to me. It took me a few minutes to see the difference but I was slightly upset. I won't be doing anything until I figure out what is wrong with the engine though.

Talk to the dealer upon picking up my truck. They said it should be under warranty and will be pushing for it. :woot:. Just gotta figure out the problem

Have you cleaned the maf? That could be the rough idle issue, they could be screwing you to buy a new one. When the last time you've put in new plugs?

I did clean the MAF. It was filthy from the few months I ran the truck without a liner.
