Re-torque is at I think 45lb/ft . The Haynes manual has the cam at a 27mm so I was using an adjustable. Figured it wouldn't slip but ill get a nice 27mm too. I'll invite my buddy who is like 250lbs to hold the cam on one side and I will go ape shit on the other end.

I live a few miles from school so it hasn't been bad. I have started walking from my place to campus and back quite a bit as I feel like I am inconveniencing people that offer me rides. It hasn't been bad and honestly it makes me realize how dependent I was of the truck. It feels great to get some fresh air and walk 15 minutes here and there. Today I walked home in the afternoon and then took my pup back to campus to meet my girlfriend when she got off work. It sucks that I can't load Ash up in the truck for a quick trip to the mountains but hopefully I can get this truck running soon and get him running some trails with me.

I feel bad for taking up the whole garage during this storm but I guess my roommates can't complain to much. At least they have working cars :p.

Some new parts/tools showed up for the bike today :woot:. Can't wait for it to arrive. It was suppose to come on Wednesday however it is now showing Thursday. Given the storm I am willing to bet I won't see it till Friday or Saturday.

How Ash doing these days? I realize that it kills you not being able to take him to the mountains, but I bet he doesn't mind, as long as he gets his walks in.

Good! He is getting a little fat but what can ya do haha. He really doesn't seem to care. He will get a bit crazy occasionally but that's normal. It is just nice to be able to let him off leash and not worry about animal control giving you a ticket and what not. I am also lucky to have an awesome roommate that takes him on walks and spends her free time at home with him if I am gone.

Interestingly, my girlfriend talked to a girl who's dog was caught in a snare not more than 20ft off a popular trail. I frequented this same trail quite often last winter. It was baited and luckily they were close enough to locate and release her using the safety features. Makes me think twice about where I take my dog in the winter. They contacted the local game warden to determine the legality of it but I doubt anything will come of it.

No one should every set snares or traps where there is any kind of pet activity....unless there dog proof. I wouldn't think he is aloud to put it there.

We are pretty sure it isn't legal but I never really read trapping laws. I have one friend who is into trapping and he believes they have to be a mile or so away from popular trails unless in designated trapping areas.

I trap but never on anywhere near a trail or where people in general would be. I would say your friend is probably right.

The snow bike is on the delivery truck! :woot:. I probably wont get to assembly of it tonight since I have a few papers/assignments to finish. But for sure tomorrow night. Already have a new set of meats picked out for it if I dont think the stock tires are up to snuff (I wont )

I'll post up. I mostly got this for a quick fix and to see if I even like riding on them big ol' meats. It'll make a good camp bike too. If I find myself enjoying it I would probably look into a $800 - $1500 bike for actual riding next winter.

    Nice.
I haven't ridden a fat tire bike yet, I'm still on my 2003 Specialized Rock Hopper Pro. <- she has been so good to me over the years. I'd like to get a fat tire bike to try out but everyone tells me that I have more bikes than I can ride.

I say I have more cars than I can drive as well. Not many people complain when I give them a ride in the Porsche though...

HA HA! In my early and mid 20's I put a lot of self worth into the vehicle I drove. Porsche is currently in storage, it doesn't get much use, not really a practical car. Then again my taco doesn't get much either. I just hit 13,250 this morning.

Waiting on the tools still. According to snap-on, my specialty subaru tool will arrive today. My 27mm wrench was delayed but it should be here by the weekend. Hopefully these tools are of good enough quality to handle the job. If not...well, the truck is getting put back together and parked until I find a place I can actually take the engine apart.
