Yeah, outside of rain I just dont see the point. You can get a floor with them but it adds a considerable amount of weight. I have spent plenty of rainy nights in the army with just a bivy and poncho. I woke up dry and warm every time. Just gotta make sure you dont make your bed in a hole where you will be flooded out.

Nice pictures, you always have some great shots! How do you like the tepee? How much room do you have in it?

I am still unsure about the tipi right now. The shelter portion is great. It took some tries to set it up in heavy wind but it did great once you got it up and tight.

The stove was a bit sketch in high winds. It was shaking quite a bit when the wind was howling and the chimney popped off once (pretty dangerous since its crazy hot!). I am pretty sure this is due to user error on my part. After looking at some over stoves assembled it seems I put the chimney on wrong.

Looking past my issues, the stove plus tipi was awesome. My friend talked crap the whole time I was trying to set it up. Talking about how just sleeping in the back of the landcruiser is way easier and far superior. Once it was up and I had a fire going he popped in and was amazed at the heat coming off the stove. I cooked some soup and boiled some water for apple cider. He was a happy camper until the chimney incident haha.

As far as size goes. Its a good size for me. It would sleep two and a dog with the stove. My friend and I could have slept at opposite sides of the tent with our large dogs just fine. It would be ideal for a couple that didn't mind getting close to each other. You could then sleep on one side and leave the other side for gear/wood/chairs. You can't stand up and walk around but you can stand up in the middle. Enough to put on pants standing up. A couple small field chairs would make it pretty cozy inside. I think I will be getting a larger one in the future just for truck camping.

Some pics from this weekend. I have 100's of Ash so I just grab the first 2 that caught my eye.

Sadly his face didn't get in focus but this captures Ash's movement in the snow perfectly. He would jump from spot to spot, dig, then shove his head in like Monte's labs do haha. I just sat there and watched him go to town for 30 min or so.

Haha, if he was a bit more active I would find a gopro to borrow and get the harness but he is a pretty lazy pup the majority of the time.
