Congrats on getting running again !
From all I've read it seems to me that jumping through all the hoops to get to the right guy to do the work was the most painful part of the whole deal. Wheww... That's how it goes for me too!

Lessons learned I guess , never go to waste.

If it happened again I wouldn't hesitate to try and do it myself again. You only learn one way.

Alright, still leaking. Decent puddle after letting the truck sit for a bit. I am going to order the seal and tear the CV out next weekend. Like always, anyone is welcome to swing by and lend a hand. I have dropped the diff 2 times and tore the CV's out more than I have wanted so this should be a quick fix. Might fix the brakes on the cruiser after if I have time.

Engine is running strong. Obvious power increase from before. Which is interesting because I never notice a drop in power. Running the Volant intake with a Donaldson filter. I plugged the fender hole and left the lid off the box. Eventually ill route a snorkel to it and be good to go. The GF likes the CAI sound but I am indifferent.

Ordered the seals and doubled check to make sure I had all the tools for the job. Anything else I should do while in there?

Discussion of 2016 hunting season has begun with friends. The GF is now a WY resident and her dad is bringing her rifle up. My friend (he was the boyfriend of the friend I lost) wants me to take him this time and I can't be more excited.

This year I am going mainly for elk. Going to try out archery for speed goats and of course Ill get a deer tag for dog food/sausage again. This time Ill be getting a rifle tag with archery option for elk and then a general deer tag for the same area.

Can't wait! Last year was my first go at it. I learned a ton and got myself into quite a few elk. This year Ill be hunting an area nearby so I can actually go scout throughout the summer and hunt more on the weekends. Driving 4 hours, to hunt 2 days, then drive back sucked. I also designed my school schedule so I have a 4 day weekend :woot:.

    Your Stoked !!
and I'm wondering what "speed goats" are ?

Prolly something I know , but called a different name ?
In Maine , what they call partridge, we call grouse.
Crazy thing , in Pa. it's tough to shoot a grouse because of their speed. Where as in Maine you just walk up to them and pop em in the head with a 22. Weirdest thing

I hope someday we can fly fish together out your way, you can have no fear of showing me "the secret spot" , heck it's not like I'd be there every week or two ... :D

I am down to fish whenever I can. If anyone came out here I would be more than happy to take them fishing. I don't have any "secret" spots. I tend to just go where people aren't.

And a speed goat is just a fun name for pronghorn (antelope).

If you don't see one within 15 minutes you simply aren't looking. :)

Congrats on getting Baby T up and running. I think you chose the best route to go with it.

I'm thinking about that for next years trip. I want to explore and fish.
I want to go to so many places that sometimes it's hard to just pick one.
I should build a wheel of fortune type wheel that is "wheel of trips" , spin it each year at Christmas and then my mind is made?
I always wanted to do the white rim trail after reading about it. So I looked at getting a campsite on it, turns out that the only one left is a few days after RT .... I'm going to combine the two and hopefully do some Co. too this year. Wyoming and Montana are high on my list.
I definitely will time it from the border , and hold ya to that bet !
Seeing some will be exciting :)

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
I know how you feel. I put in for a deer tag and leftover draw for elk, at the beginning of the month. Hopefully I get a deer this year. Not sure where I will hunt elk yet.

Bought fluids for a full change on baby t. The store had a sign for Lucas products as buy one get one 50% off. It wasn't suppose to count for gear fluid but since they put a sticker near them they honored it. $90 for a diffs and tranny

New axle seal is in and changed the oil. Everything looked good. The axle seal went relatively smooth. We couldn't get the drain plug for the front diff out so we filled it up and ill take it to a shop. I'll let them strip it and figure out how to fix it

Well, drove the truck around last night. Seal held fine but I came out this morning to find a huge pile of diff fluid :frusty:. Ordering a new seal and doing it again this week. There was a small tear on the inner outside lip after I installed it. I expected it would leak sooner than later but not a day later . I also may have tapped it in further than I should have.

Volant cai w/ Donaldson filter. I plugged the fender hole for now and left the lid off to suck from the engine bay. Gonna plum a snorkel to it.

I may go back to stock when the snorkel gets here because the CAI is kind of annoying.
