I went with 1/8 UHMW. I wanted to play with this stuff for a while and glad I got it. Very sturdy but still pretty easy to mold. It will easily handle anything that gets kicked up there.

I had mud flaps incorporated in the first design but would have had issues with the tire clearing it :pout:. Maybe I'll figure it out with the next go around. I am going to wait until the temps are in the 70's to work on it again. It will be a lot easier to heat and mold the plastic then.

Ash would probably just lean on me the whole time in an automatic carwash. Not sure if it would be worse. He's a chicken when it comes to new experiences.

Just saw that in the 35's thread. Glad you got something worked out.

Me too. With all this nice weather I have been taking care of the smaller projects. I am cutting up one of my rubber mats for the bed next week. Pretty sure you did the same thing. Then I started organizing my little green box. Mounted the CO2 tank to it. I plan on adding molle webbing in the lid to attach my first aid kit and various other goodies. Then I will create a list of everything I need for offroading and build up the inside so things aren't just tossed in there. My goal is to have one box that I can remove when I am not wheeling that has everything. I'll have the maxtrax, shovel and axe mounted to the outside of it.

After the bumpers come in and I get your UCAs I am done messing with the truck for a long time. I keep rushing the build and forgetting to just enjoy it! I maxed out the front suspension yesterday and got one of the front tires to lift and the rear was firmly planted. I am extremely happy with what the truck can handle right now. I feel like I got the necessities out of the way and really love where the truck is now. I never thought I would be content with this build :p.

That said, I think I am going to stick to the small projects. Fix the things I rushed and work on organization. I understand I will probably have to do some rear suspension work after adding a rear bumper and swing out. Hopefully its just an AAL but if not I will probably look into the chevy leafs in the rear. Seems to be a solid and cheap alternative that is being proven over and over again. Probably re-wire all of my mess. I just need something to keep me busy and I have plenty of unfinished projects now :p.

Yea having everything organized is a good feeling. I picked up some alignment turntables today so whenever they get in I'll be putting the hiemed uppers on and cleaning up the DSM arms for ya. Be able to do an alignment for you too when you visit ;)

MTRs are known for wearing odd and getting loud. If you look at them I'll bet that the inner tread pattern is worn different then the outer one.

Rotating them a lot helps but not much.

I'll glance next time I'm next to the truck. I remember reading that they got louder. Just seemed to be a sudden change. Or maybe I just took the time to actually listen to them haha

Well I though of a project to get done before the weekend. I am going camping, finally! I seriously need a break from reality and some alone time. Sadly I can't ditch everything, I have to read a book for college (A really really awesome one at least). The RTT got me a bit used to glamping so I am going to install an LED strip into my tipi so I can have light at night and be able to read the book. Pretty simple but gives me something to do other than homework tomorrow.

I also have a new idea for some mud flaps/flares I might start messing with.

Yea been rotating mine every other oil change which is 3k for me... so every 6k they go front to back and then the next 6k I roll I go front to back crossed. I'll look closer at my treads tomorrow.

Ugh feel you on the break from reality man. Gets a guy itchn for some mtn and fire mesmerization.

New idea for mud flap/flares eh!?

Haha yep. The cardboard version didn't look terrible but I am going to play with it some more. Its just extra UHMW so no harm in it.

Also, found out that all my pictures lately have been crazy over sharpened. Thanks for telling me guys . They seemed a tad sharp on my laptop (I blame flickr) but on the school monitors it was stupid oversharpened. I forgot that they look softer on my laptop . So ill be redoing those.
