No cutouts to use my factory license plate lights on this bumper. Anyone got any suggestions on what and how to mount some plate lights?
I can't install until I figure out a lighting solution. Any and all recommendations/suggestions welcomed!

35K oil change. The MotivX tools help tremendously. I would recommend these tools to anyone that has a third gen, for quick, easy and clean oil changes!

Have you seen the thread where the guy switches to a normal oil filter?

You mean like a spin on filter on my 2nd gen? Dude, I wish the 3rd gens were still spin on and mounted on top! Don't know why they went with filter and filter housing underneath the truck again, a step backwards in my opinion.

So correction on why the 3rd gen license plate lights won't work. It's not that they won't remove but it's the way in which they are mounted and facing to the sides. For the 2nd gen since our lights are in housings and different we have cutouts for the license plate lights. Personally I'd roll with the bolts or the last one I posted. Those are the styles I used on my motorcycles. I kinda like the look of that better than reusing factory stuff to me it's cleaner.
Yes I'll see if I can't find the thread but he converted it back to the spin on one. I agree I am not a fan of the cartridge style, especially with plastic housings. Once they get old with lots of heat cycles they start getting brittle and cracking.

Yeah, and you better not torque down the filter housing too much, it makes it almost impossible to remove next oil change. Ask me how I know! lol Now I torque until it starts getting tight and then one more little spin of the wrench and that's it.

Yeah, I'm thinking the 2nd or 3rd set too so I don't have to drill. I don't want to have to drill through this beautifully painted bumper!

Right! I hate the 2nd gen tag lights also. When they are switched to one of these it looks like an afterthought to me. That is one of the cleanest I've seen, besides a couple color matched. It beats PC, line-x and rattle can hands down! Since it's an enamel trailer paint I bet it's tough as shit too.

They put a little extra hardener in the paint, 4 coats and then sealed with a hardened clearcoat. If you see Fontaine trailers going down the highway, some of them have this exact same paint scheme. It's some tough stuff for sure!

What goes on these trailers, is what my bumper was painted with.

Oh yeah then it's gonna be uber tough. Trailers like that are use to chain binders being thrown on them and dragged across as well as whatever else.

I can’t install without tag light! That’s my hangup right now. I’ve 2 different sets coming in, so I’ll see which ones work out the best. Main thing is, I don’t want to cut my factory harness to install aftermarket lights, in case I ever want to go back to stock.

Just use wire taps that'll make it easier to tap into the harness without cutting anything.
