    Complain about your bad neighbors!

    Ill start...

I have been living at the same house for 26 years. I have seen nextdoor neigbors come and go. Recently new renters next door moved in. We share a driveway and I park my vehicles in the driveway. I have had my 99 T4R parked on the street infront of my residence. It was passed inspection by 3 months and I forgot about it due to work and my mom being in the hospital and an inspection is the last thing on my mind. My 4runner was parked in front of my residence for about 2 years. The new renters move in and had a hard time getting a parking spot infront of their rental. I went down the shore to see my mom who was recently diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. The neighbor called the police on me. I live in a small town and have seen the police on my street twice in 26 years. I came home to an ABANDONED sticker on my 4runner. I was told it was an anonymous reporting by the officer. I swapped the battery out in the 4runner and noticed the new neighbor peeking thru her blinds at me, i made eye contact and she closed the blinds. I since moved the 4runner in my driveway and not one day after she parks her vehicle exactly where my 4runner used to be...like really? She will park there even when she has a spot directly in front of her rental.

Two days later I parked my tacoma in front of my house where the 4runner was and went up to the front to get my wallet sat from the truck and sat in it waiting for a friend. Guess who pulls up...the neighbor. She waited for me to move my truck so she could take the spot, when my friend arrived I got out of my truck and into my friends car. She then proceeded to park in the spot infront of her rental property.

Oh I also failed to mention this neighbor throw their trash on the front lawn so the raccons and create a mess and blocked me in my driveway during a snow storm like an idiot.

End Rant on the bad neighbors!

    I hear ya!
I have parking issues with a house full of renters next door too. They have learned not to park in front of my house but it took a while. One time the guy parked in front of my house facing the wrong direction. I left and came back to see the CHP cited him. I'm sure they think I called it in..lol After that they let their relative park a car in front of my house while he was out of town. I got pissed and made them move it.
I always park in front of my house now even though I have a 3 car driveway. Just because I don't want them invading my space. They have 5 cars total, 4 adults and 4 kids in a 3 bd house...ugh!

Curious, sounds like hair raising events over parking on a public street?

We had the same situation a few years back. Neighbor actually called the cops on us after we told him to move his car from in front of our house. Police came and talked to us and told us unfortunately it is not illegal to be a jerk. if you talk to the police and tell them the situation, they will basically start a file on your neighbor. every time something comes up, let the police know. If it hits the fan for some reason, they have a running list on your neighbor and nothing on you. I would document everything with dates and times and pictures. if you keep a file and send it to the police occasionally with updates and pictures, then you have a solid stance in court. With no documentation, they have no chance against you. Hopefully they will move out before that ever occurs. Having been in court for collections and employee issues with various employers (defending the company) in the past, documentation rules supreme. Just imagine a lawyer questioning you about your "I think it was around May 5th". They will shell you. Kind of a long winded suggestion but it is cheap defense.

So glad I live in the country, the only house I can see is about 100 yards from mine. I moved from a subdivision not because there were problems but because I don't want any in the future.

Even though they have unused driveways/garages inner city folk have this compulsion to park on the street exposing their vehicles to the elements and accidents.

My grandma lives out in the sticks on 200 acres, she started complaining about how people had bought property bordering hers and were building their house right on top of the boundary about 15 years ago.

Their houses are about 1/4 mile apart...

Each house is roughly and 1/8th mile from the property boarder.

She still complains how close they are to her today.

    All relative I suppose.

I've had bad neighbors, and I'm pretty sure I've been called the bad neighbor before. Apartment living, fuck that noise.

Plenty of bad stories from the apartment ghetto living but I got to meet nice gentlemen with the SWAT team on occasion.

They once used my kitchen for a sharpshooter position to cover an armed drug dealer getting taken down who had his customer hostage.

    Fun times.

Yep, I do consider the sidewalk and parking in front of my house as "my space". I PAY property taxes, my rental neighbors do NOT!
Sorry, this isn't up for debate, that is just how I feel since I've lived in the house since it was built. I clean the sidewalk, gutter etc in front of my property, the renters place looks like $hit!

Sorry but generally speaking sidewalks and streets are not privately owned and are owned and maintained by the city/county. You have the rights to your zoned lot and nothing more outside that regardless if you clean it or not. Unless there is something put up stating there is no parking allowed or parking by permit only you’re shit out of luck if someone parks there.

I almost can’t believe that on TW a thread is started about neighbors and street parking issues, but it is TW.

I recall reading an article a few years back where a lady built a concrete skate ramp on the sidewalk in front of her house. Yeah, that didn’t last too long either.

Hell ur not even "supposed to" overhang your driveway and have the sidewalk behind your driveway blocked by your vehicle from my experience.

Is that still a thing? I mean, it’s something I check or consider when I’m parking in a driveway or someone else’s driveway. If I can’t I usually go park somewhere else on the street. I do see a shit load of people who don’t though and end up not only blocking the street but hanging half their car out into the street for everyone to drive around

I think so... its not a biggie, ive never seen or heard of it enforced thats why i used quotes.
The street is fair game tho as long as your not blocking someones egress from driveway afaik.
    Good times.
