It was yesterday because of the snow but I don't know if it's open now.

I was thinking about that but it would probably be to cold for me.

Okay cool. Deer Valley looks like an awesome trail as well as slick rock. I'm going to try to get out to them sometime at the beginning of 2011.

I know some people cant do the cold, but we need to get a snow day in as well this year. There are a few trails right up off 80 that have perfect places for many things. One has a shooting range, frozen lake, bbq spot, free camping, and miles and miles of closed road that you can play on until your exhausted.

What is the plan if we hit that river and need to not cross?

I'm so down for a snow day just say when.

About the river we can go around it I see the trail that go's around it it just adds time to the run. Or we can just go to the river and BBQ I'm up for anything my girl does want to jump in the hot spring if it's hot enough.

My girlfriend is hoping the same, if the hot springs are not as good as the ones in the beginning of markleeville I am going to be in trouble! lol.

WHEN!!! There is not enough snow up here now but dec - jan is an ideal time. I have a little room at my place for an overnight thing and I know of some cheap places to stay up here. Or it could be a day thing but the only problem with that is if someone gets stuck. Because they close the road your pretty much sol unless you can get out. Tow trucks wont help you at all!!! ITS AWESOME!

Is Hwy 89 (montior pass) open? I'd be worried about them closing that down.

I feel a deer valley or another eagle lakes day trip coming on.

Hollister maybe as a back up?

We have a ton of options. As long as people are free and are willing to go to wherever it should be a good day.

I hate to be the buzz kill here but....

Why don't we just choose a different trail? And plan to camp this one later - Like KRT said its better to camp, not much of a place to wheel but more for scenery and camp for a few days/weekend.
