Nice...looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

That's an interesting Trasharoo location. I supposed it's just about the only option for now.

Yeah...loaded the 4runner with camping gear, doesn’t have the tent mounted and has a saggy butt so guna have to refresh the rear suspension for sure.

Yeah, the rear definitely squats easily with any amount of gear .

906 with no gear gets you 2" but falls out at massive droop

890 with rear swing out and some gear gets you 2", but won't fall out on massive droop

    Just a heads up

yeah been doing some research, planning on drawers and swing out and with the RTT I’m looking at some weight. So was thinking 891 or 861s. My friends has some super flexes he swapping out for 861s so I might take those.

Unlike the taco you need to remove a plastic cover with 4 plastic clips to get access to the filler neck.

Luckily I was able to not destroy the clips upon removal and reuse them, unlike the Lexus running boards.

    1st 4runner Trip

With work being hectic & free time minimal, prepping/organizing was minimal as well. After loading the runner with gear the 4runner sagged pretty bad so another 100lbs for the RTT was pushing it. Also didn’t have time to make mounting points. So ground tenting it was. Things we’re forgotten and missed but getting out was worth it.

Tyler(other 4runner seen in a lot of trip reports) recently acquired a new swing out, I have to say I’m impressed with the design.

Having an auto is different....took a little getting used to. It’s fun as my wife and I would take turns behind thewheel and it’s a blast watching her drive.

Overall the trails were mild, with some slight climbs and soft sides. Almost got stuck mid hill climb as I hit a soft patch near the shoulder, but with a little shimmy I broke free.

Overall the 4runner did great just need to rethink organization, it is a little weird having the gear inside the cab with so you hear things clank around.

Still collecting Parts for the lift little by little but I’d like to take the same approach as the truck, lift and tires at the same time maybe some armor beforehand as well. Time will tell.

Also Playing with the idea of keeping the 5stars and going skinny 33’s. We’ll see.

Hell yeah that looks fun as hell!

That swingout your buddy has is the same one I've got; Nguyen Works. Love my fold out tray option.

Can't wait to see the whole build start coming together.

thinking just keeping it one sided, to keep it simple. And if I wana change it later I can cut it up and add the other swing out.

should be finalizing lift purchases today:spending:

One of the reasons for choosing to build the 4runner was to maintain a budget/get a garage for it(buy a house).

with that said new wheel setup:

    A85EE675-5DBB-4E7F-AB5C-7B099A0E19E4.jpg

Got the set for cheap. So take 1 wheel off the 4unner and I got a set of 5.

I loved those wheels on my Tacoma.

And I hear you about the house; we just contracted last month for a new build/house so my budget build is pretty much done :anonymous:

Bushings were toast on the toytec setup.

FYI, bushings are the same as oem.

    Hell yeah

Got the rear figured out? May have missed it if you posted about it.

I've got extra rear springs with maybe 5k miles on them at most; OME 906 in case you need a set.

Finally got the tent mounted it took some modification to the rack to space the supports. Thinking of adding a pelican of Plano case for storage in front of the tent.
