Why don't you have an electrician put one in, shouldn't be to much money.

Did the research and know what needs to be done. The problems not the cost, but I need to contact the landlord and some times it can be a task.

I have two friends who are electricians which is nice!

So its guna happen but it's guna take long than I wanted

Oh ok, I didn't know you rented the house. I'm sure your landlord wouldn't mind you putting one in though. Even better, you have buddy's that can wire it up for you.
If your at all worried about the welds running 120v, I would wait till you can get that 240v outlet installed. Peace of mind ya know..

FYI: Have your electrician friends check out your house service/ fuse panel first to see if it can handle a 220/240 circuit BEFORE you talk to the Landlord - might not have large enough Service.

Im guna test the welds by jacking the truck up from the sliders, and look for some deflection/ deformation. That will give me peace of mind, but if it fails we'll all learn something ahah and i'll fix or build another set. I think it's a good alternative, plus i love taking the risk. In the end, I'll go over the weld once the 220v is in place.

man this is guna be exciting

Hell, yeah I like to get all the details and know as much as possible when asking for something.

Next step, is to cut some caps for the open tube ends, then make some gussets .

I've decided to hold off on the kick ups, I have just enough tubing for the front bumper.

Cut out some end caps, and got them welded on. Also cut and tacked gussets.

Just need to finish those welds and inspect and clean up!

Picked up the etching primer and paint today, going with the traditional black.

Hardest part was finding the correct mounting position, and welding at awkward angles, the first welds were complete shit, had to grind down and start over, once I found the right position welds looked awesome.

Plan on finishing two more passes tomorrow.

    alright, schools out for summer!

lets see how far I can get

    1) Weather striping for softtopper
    2) Weather striping for the door (you know the weather stripping directly below the window that always comes off )
    3) Build the front bumper, I dont think im guna use the mounting plate, just guna build directly of the mount I have still thinking about designs if you think of some let me know! thinking about going hybrid plate/tube
4)Post bumper, I'll install suspension (still need to buy leaf springs, extended brake line and other componets)
    6) Build rear bumper
    7) Skids
    8) Rims and tires........
1000) good permanent solution to the squeaky clutch

need to borrow a floor jack and test the welds of the slider mount

lets not forget the kick ups

Reviewing the sliders, things I would changed if I were to do again, squared tubing for the mounts and first rail and tubing on the kick outs. Reason, life would be easier with less notching allowing me to be more creative. I would have liked to utilzed the bender more. Overall I'm happy so far, I am going to add some kick ups its just a matter of time

Got the bumper mount on, had to cut off the bar (housing skid mount nuts )across the frame posts to get the correct fit. Ive seen people with cardboard designs and always wanted to try it out.
