Can’t remember the brand the Jerry can holder belongs to, its original design intent is bolt on my plan is just to weld it in place.

Also forgot to mention, picked up a set of duro bump fronts are a primary and secondary set (only primary is installed) and went with the large rear.

Big one in the done pile today, it’s been quite a process but callin the drive way done. Sure there’s a few cracks on the concrete strips but I’m just glad we wont be stepping in mud.

    before:IMG_4947.jpg

after and now ready for wrenching
    IMG_4946.jpg

V line installed today in the gx, liked it over the alternative Tesla screens etc and retain the factory look.

Refreshed the kings new spherical bearing replacement kit from 303, link in previous post. Replacement was straightforward no special tools required to press out old and press in new. Simple socket does the trick.

    Kings installed
Durobumps front diff bushing are in
    https://durobumps.com/product/toyota-replacement-front-differential-bushings/

I did a diff drop as well, never had on on the taco but those hubs were manual and didn’t seem much spinning on the pavement. So maybe the minor angle change may increase life/duration of cvs boots.

F5’s and AT3Ws on, trimming needs to be done!

So my 3 year old calls the 4runner a Fayruna…..
    IMG_5125.jpg

Can’t put it on yet, as the 4runner is at local shop flex function to finish what I have no time for: steering rack, outer tie rods, LCA bushings and rear springs.

once back plates go on, and next up is the rear swing out build.

Where are all the leaves? Because I gotta rake

springs are providing a significant lift, but the dobinsons were selected based on being loaded and or pulling a small trailer with some tongue weight

Steering is now very sensitive compared to the 20+ year old components. With the new bushings/steering rack and tie rods and rear springs a lot has changed. I’ll post a review once I get some more time behind the wheel.

    Relaxed:

Loaded with family and goodies for cabin trip for the 4th.

    IMG_5056.jpg

Installed the ARB drawer, there were no good factory locations and I wanted 4 anchor points. Solution was rivnuts and spacers to keep drawer level and minimize gapping/deflection.

Over the past few weeks building the swing out for the 4runner, I've been able to manage only a few hours a week due to work. Looking back at the slow progression has made me re-evaluate priorities with a DIY trailer build and start considering alternative means to speed up the build process. That ment purchase of an existing project that is further along, kit trailers, m416s where I can add a rack and throw the tent on top.

Came close to a purchase of a smittybilt Scout as it met the basic needs, price was a steal but still felt like I was settling, because it didn’t match my original design concept.

Wife & I decided to double down, planed on setting aside as much time as I could manage for trailer build so we didn’t have to settle. 1st off still needed to close out the swing out build and add a few gussets and paint.

Meanwhile, I continued to watch the used trailer market as a pre-bed time ritual for some inspiration while adding trailer items to various saved online shopping carts. Then I found it, my basic design concept had already been designed/built almost 20 years ago, The Conqueror Compact 1.

So here’s the trailer break down:

    Conqueror Compact 1
Paper work says 2003, manufactured in South Africa, likely imported in mid 2000’s

    - Lithium battery, USB and 12v accessory charging ports
    - Victron MPPT solar charge controller
    - 100w portable solar panel
    - ICECO VL45ProS fridge/freezer wired in
    - 2x 11lbs propane tank
    - Coleman camping stove
    - 2x 5g fuel tank
    - 4 front runner storage boxes inside
    - conquorer RTT, with annex
    - 31” tires with steel wheels
    - Huge awning
    - original dishes and wine glasses and foam inserts
    - 15 gallon water tanks

here’s a walk around from someone with same model.
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ALxGLVJY0QE

    Example of the awning
    IMG_5340.jpg

    Blue trailer is now gone!
    IMG_5335.jpg

Goal is to get the trailer in the garage.

Tongue is done, lock and roll is all set up with the gx. Need to extend the safety chains and 7pin connector and we’ll be ready to roll.

    IMG_5501.jpg

Size various components to allow the door to swing out. Got about an inch of clearance

    IMG_5507.jpg

Slowly figuring this trailer out, shown below is the kitchen side, been replacing small things here there figuring out all the quirks.

    IMG_5502.jpg

This side opens to the inside of the annex, I call this side the wine cellar and the foam inserts are designed for wine and wine glasses.
