Anything without tomato juice! haha that shit is nasty. Usually if i was drunk enough to get hungover the last thing I want is more alcohol. If I'm gonna drink in the AM I think a light beer is the way to go, it's easy to drink and will kinda hydrate you as you drink it. If you wanna do liquor then Irish coffee, or screwdriver.

Also, I wanna try one of these bad larry's too. Gin>Vodka

I’ve been chugging Lagunitas IPA since about 9 this morning while changing oil and washing my truck. That stuff is pretty tasty. I’m gonna take a nap now.

Beer:30, this sounds delicious! How many litres/quarts did you strike with, and at what temp, for the 3.75 G of wort?
I am very inclined to try this!
Do you peel and core your apples, or just wash/cut/Vitamix them?

I'm currently into brewing some hef's due to it finally getting warm here, but this would make a great long term project...

Looking over my recipe I was a little off in my initial description, but not by much... I actually started with 3.84 gallons of strike water @ 164.5°F. Mashed for 60m @ 160°F, no sparge. Pre-boil volume was 3.54 gallons, which I boiled down to 1.0 gallon in about 120 min. I didn't take a pre-boil gravity, but it should have been around 1.034. I'm not sure where FG will come out, but hopefully around 1.008-1.010. Without the beer wort, it would ferment out almost completely and be very dry, unless I stopped fermentation early and pasteurized it or backsweetened and then pasteurized. The wort should keep it a bit on the sweet side. Basically, since we're make cider with juice and wort, it's technically a graff (inspired by this thread @ homebrewtalk.com).

    Grain bill:
4 lbs Weyermann Pilsener (this really isn't important, use any pale base malt you want)
1 lb C-77 (I used UK malt - but domestic would be fine)
    .25 lb Carapils
    No hops

Apples were rinsed, quartered, and the cores sliced out. I left the peel on and tossed them into a 1 gallon ziplock bag and put them in the freezer where they sat for a few weeks. A couple days ago I moved them to the fridge to thaw. I'm getting ready to puree them in a little while, then I'll put the puree in a pot and simmer/caramelize it down to apple sauce. Once it's cooled, I'll dump it into the fermenter and let it all go for about another week and a half, after which I'll cold crash for a week and keg with gelatin.

This will be my third time making a version of this. The first time, I basically did the same thing as this, but boiled the wort down to 2 gallons and fermented it with with 4 gallons of apple juice and the caramelized apples. It was very good, but took about 4 months to clear. The second attempt was similar, but I omitted the apple sauce. That one cleared right up in the keg within a couple weeks, but wasn't as flavorful. I think the apples really make a difference. I also used a lager yeast that time (Wyeast 2124 Bohemian Lager), while the initial batch used an ale strain (WLP041 Pacific Ale). This latest batch was to be a recreation of my first one, but I decided at the last minute to boil the wort down to a syrup and make up the volume with another gallon of apple juice, hopefully resulting in a lot of apple flavor. This will also be the first batch with no hops (the other batches were bittered to around 8 IBUs), I don't think they're needed. We'll see how it all turns out in a few months!
