    Got impatient and cracked one of my home brews early, doesn't help that there's some serious snow outside and neither my roommate nor myself are trying to go to the store...

    Great flavor, the grains really come through, of course needs another week for carbonation..

    Starting step 3 of my dregs from the Orval bottle. Looking really odd and globby. Had 2 bigger chunks that got stuck on the side last time, despite the stirplate effect, just had to pull them out, looked too weird. Belgian Yeast Problems? Just kind of odd. When I decant the "beer" each step and taste it there's no off flavors, and not really any flavors at all, just a watery grain flavor. This is a lot stronger batch of wort, so we'll see how it turns out this go around.

    I've never seen that in a starter before. My only thought is it's coagulated proteins.

    Right? it looks super weird. I made this step a good bit bigger, so we'll see if I get any real action. This morning looked about the same. I've never seen one like this, like a lava lamp basically haha

    My buddy's fiance works for Firestone and he gave me this bottle at new years. I've been delaying popping it, and finally did last night. Took one sip and said f'n nope. Drain pour for me. I mean, it tasted like what it said, a dark and stormy, so I can't be too mad, but...I don't like dark n stormys. Oh well.
