Its pretty good but not my favorite IPA from DFH. I prefer their other XX minute IPAs.

Most likely not getting all the soap residue out of the inside of the glass.. it breaks the surface tension and you wont get a foamy head. One way to tell if your glass has been cleaned properly is if it leaves "legs" like below. Any leftover soap residue (i.e. if they rinse in a soap solution instead of steaming the glasses) wont allow the foam to stick to the sides of the glass.

Obviously not true 100% of the time, but i've always heard its a good rule of thumb. If you google "beer clean glass" you'll get a bunch of stuff on the topic. I'm guessing thats why you're not getting a good head.

Having a Ten Fidy right now. This one is 14 months old and while I prefer almost all imperial stouts with atleast a year of age on them I cant say I feel the same about this beer. Maybe its the can but I definitely prefer fresh ones. Oh well I only let one sit so no big loss.

Oh and Gulden Draak is delicious, I love the 9000 best.

Very interesting. I've never gave it much thought as to how clean the glass was.

I can think of other reasons why I'm not getting good head though.

Hahahaha im sure you can..

But yea, at some point it'll start affecting the texture of the beer, but that doesn't happen very often IMO. Usually the bars that don't clean them enough to the point where you can taste and feel the soap, don't serve (good) beer and only have like bud light and stuff where you can't really affect the taste much lol

How have I never seen this thread before???!!!! Guess I'm late to the party :/
Been brewing for about 3 years, and am the "snobby beer nerd" to my friends.

anyway, been switching back and forth lately between the 4 brews I have bottled, a stone smoked porter clone, a 12% rye Russian imperial stout, ESB, and a double rye IPA. haha I love rye.

Sorry if this is redundant and been brought up before, but any Brewing Network guys on here?

Yea they just kinda went full retard.. I don't get it. Reminds me of when 7-11 tried to trademark the phrase brain freeze for their slurpees. I thought it was pretty outrageous when I read it this morning.

In other news, Blue Point Toasted Lager is quite tasty.

Burton baton is amazing. It's a VERY close second behind 75 minute for me as far as Dogfish goes.
