I’ve heard that it may “taste the same as an American Guinness” but when you come back and drink a Guinness here, it’ll taste like shit.

It’s not a ice cold beer but...

My wife thought we needed a new fridge. It’s been making noise. We also needed a new stove. They’re both 11-12 yrs old. Got a deal on a new stove and fridge that a friend didn’t want. (Brand new appliances in the house they just bought) I was pulling the old stove and fridge outside the front door. I cleaned the fan and coils. Guess who just got a giant beer fridge in the basement?

Oh, a freezer with ice/water with plenty of shelf space for whiskey, vodka, and Everclear.
Deep chest freezer right next to it for ice bags during family party’s .

The neighbor said we can modify the fridge for a pony keg and still use the shelves for cans/bottles.

Sure can! You can most likely fit two, 5-gallon kegs in there and run a double tap out the front! Still have probably 2 shelves for cans as well.

Didn't see your pic at first. Since it's a side by side, you may not be able to fit two 5-gallons, but can definitely fit at least 1 5-gallon in there.

Any reason you racked to secondary? It's generally more hassle than it's worth, unless you're trying to clear it up or transfer on to fruit.

Yeah, I know it’s pretty well accepted that it’s not a necessary thing. I guess I’m a bit paranoid and I wanted to try out my auto siphon before bottling. It sucked enough that I believe I’ll be making me a bottling bucket.

I don’t expect much out of this first home brew so I’m using it sort of as a test bad to see how things work.
