    Another local offering. I didnt know they had grizzly bears in Phuket.

    Very much a wheat beer, with a distinct citrus scent and palette.

    Not sure about the instructions though. I have always associated 'roused' protein as bad. And I don't see a snowfall; it looks pretty much like any other beer that has been poured into a hotel room glass of dubious hygiene

    But it was a wonderful way to finish the day, after spending the entire day soaked to the skin and drinking Carlsberg draft.

    Like Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Oktobfest in Munich, Carnival in Rio or the We-didn't-win-the-Stanley-Cup-AGAIN riot in Vancouver, Songkran Festival ~ Thai New Year ~ is something that has to be experienced to be believed....and apparently Patong is one of the best places for that experience

    A few months back I had a nitro rye lager at one of our local breweries and enjoyed it so much I thought I should try to brew something similar.

    Last night I brewed my attempt at a nitro rye lager...

    6 Gallon batch
    Est OG: 1.056 (based on 85% BHE); Act OG = 1.059
    Est FG: 1.019 (I've found that a higher FG works better for serving on nitro - If serving on CO2, I'd have targeted 1.010 to 1.012)
    IBUs: 17.3

    7 lbs 2-Row
    2 lbs Munich
    1.5 lbs Malted Rye
    .5 lbs C-60

    Mash @125F for 20m (beta glucan rest), then .162F for 60m

    .75 oz East Kent Goldings @ 60 min (13.9 IBUs)
    .50 East Kent Goldings @ 10 min (3.4 IBUs)

    White Labs WLP835 German X Lager (fermenter-harvested from a Marzen brewed on 3/10)
