I enjoyed these with the wife on the porch last night. She bought them for us. She is awesome.

I love Old Peculiar. It has a very unique taste I find difficult to describe. I recommend that every beer lover try it once. And it is a nice change from all the current trendy hoppier-than-thou silliness.

This is the first time I tried the Old Engine Oil. A slow sipper for sure, but very nice, and a definite toasted quality, rather than too sweet, which is what I was expecting.

Until they change their sponsorship of the Sierra Club, I don't buy anything from them; which sucks because they make damn good beer.

Decided to re-attack a Saison this weekend. The last time I did, WLP565 crapped out at 1.030 and Brett wouldn't even finish it off right (down to 1.016). Before pitching the brett, it got up to 90f for 3 weeks and still nothing.

Doing a big starter, pure O2 and mashing at 147. Didn't do O2 last time. We'll see.

Very clever package design. That Albino Python's head is very suggestive...

I will drink torpedo but if im buying I enjoy the regular pale ale so much more. Its stiff, but not to the point where i feel like shit after just 2. Summerfest is a pretty good one too if your looking for something lighter.

Uh, yeah, about New Belgium... They are the other major craft brewer donor to The Sierra Club.

Some people wrote to Ken Grossman (Sierra Nevada Owner) about it. He basically just said, we like OHV rights for everyone, but the good the sierra club does outweighs the bad.

I can't shake the feeling of donating to The Blue Ribbon Coalition on one hand, then buying a SN or NB beer just to have some of the money work against me.

There was a time long ago when I believed this. But having been involved in some of the access issues of late, I'm convinced their mission is to get rid of OHV and mountain bike access to forested areas.

:( Sorry buddy. It's tough since I got into craft beer thanks to SN. I ordered some awesome glassware from New Belgium a while back and one came broken ($6 with shipping). They hooked me up with all kinds of swag as an apology and I was never even mad. They are great companies for homebrewers too. Talk to them about a beer and they are pretty open about tips, tricks and recipes.

Yeah, this is great, except I buy more beer now than ever for "research."

Ive toured the Sierra Nevada Brewery up in Chico many times and its the coolest place ever. After the tour you get to hang out in the taproom and sample all of their normal and specialty brews and talk with some of the staff who basically have the coolest job ever.
I need to give home brewing a try. That and make my own moonshine whiskey.

The usual for my trips to Florida, I don't catch shit.... I did manage to catch the arm on my glasses and watch them sink Into the nasty brackish water we were fishing.
We were fishing cedar key mainly and I've come to the conclusion that there are no fish there. (Dupree spoons, streamers and poppers) I tried nearly every fly I own and never even got a bite in 3 days of fishing. When I lost the glasses I was in some fresh water lake that had carp but they didn't like any of my flies :(

    Get to fishing!
