While I love hazeys, I must agree. There’s no way one would survive the trip from the UK to India by ship.

Gotta get there early... and in my case, since it takes a bit over an hour to get there, only makes sense to "load up" and spend just a "tiny bit" more than $40

 

Takes me about 1.5 for Pittsburgh, so I always get criticism when I get home over having a cooler full of spoils when I get home. Told her we just need to move closer when I get done with school again.

 

Last time I went to Tree House I picked up stuff for myself, my neighbor and another buddy of mine... spent close to $500

 

What? You're joking right? Because those are literally facts.

"Hazy" IPA did not become an official beer style until 2018. Don't believe me? Go look it up. It's not an opinion, that is a cold, hard, fact.

MANY breweries just don't filter their IPAs and slap on the "hazy" in front of the IPA because it's not clear. They additionally will add oats and other such grains to give it the "hazy" look and give it the silky mouthfeel. That's what oats do in a beer. Again, don't believe me? Look it up.

I'm not claiming ALL hazies are shit. TH, Trills, Alchemist, Other Half all make great hazies. But those are REAL hazies done proper (this is an opinion). I've had a SIGNIFICANT number of hazies that are pure garbage and sink pours. I can count the number of sink pour IPAs I've had on one hand.

 

@1DVS-BSTD if you want to get in to IPAs, start off slow with a hazy. But a GOOD hazy that is well known. They are a good intro in to the IPA world because they aren't super hopped up and bitter. Gradually start trying different IPAs that have a higher and higher IBU rating until you work your way up to a pure West Coast that is nice and piney and bitter and oh so delicious.

Surely we can all agree that hazy or west coast IPA doesn’t matter because stouts are better than all of them.

 

Was referring to your opinion that you dislike most hazy IPAs.

The alcohol industry, otherwise, is insanely fluid. What I knew about it when I worked in it from 2003-2010 compared to what’s going on now are two different worlds. Becoming officially recognized is a formality.

 

It’s almost 5pm here and I’m probably drinking already. I’m not fighting! I just like hazies.

It's the only beer I will accept being not able to see through... and heffes I suppose... and maybe a belgian.... and maybe a dunkel, but that brings me back to #darkbeersmatter

Where would you rate that BA Vanilla you sent me? It was better than DG’s Vanilla, but it’s not BA.

I’ve got notifications turned on for Voodoo’s releases so I can go 100mph up the freeway to make it on time.

 

Speaking of IPAs...how about a Southeastern IPA. A little hazy and made with grits instead of oats. It’s got the bitterness of a westie but still a little juicy on the finish. Color me a fan.
