I’ll be sure to do that. There’s a few breweries signed up that I definitely want to give a try.

For you Cali folks who get to enjoy The Bruery, how is their Coconut Macaroon? I’m assuming it’s a stout? One of my local shops just got a shipment in and I was wondering if it would be worth the trip to go grab a couple.

Local bar has this on tap. Found it at the grocery store so had to get some. Nothing real fancy, but I like it.

Nothing crazy, but pretty tasty. Very sweet and thick, being a pastry stout. I like it, but I don't find myself getting it often, not sure why. Probably just fear of diabeetus

    Like Christmas in Ju....ne?

I love spiced ales but it seems odd that there was even one on the shelf this time of year.

    How was it?

This particular shop is the furthest one I tend to visit. I might run out this weekend and see if there are any left. Appreciate the feedback!

Were the judges all employees at Founders?!?!

They make some solid beers, but 4 in the top 10???

I’ve had 7 of the 10 and none of those make my top 10 for sure!

I dunno. For beers that are actually craft beer, and fairly easy to access and aren’t a one time, limited release, I’d argue that’s a pretty solid top 10 list. Sure, I’d have some replacements, but if you think about it, almost everyone can get these beers pretty easily and are (mostly) widely distributed. Everyone’s going to have their own top 10 list. I’ve had every one of those beers, including a Two Hearted tonight in California. Every single one of them are solid beers I’d buy on a consistent basis.

Agreed. I’ve had all but 3 beers on the list, and they are all solid. Even more importantly, I can purchase all but the 3 I haven’t had right here in NC.

No doubt there are beers we’ve all had that are better than anything on the list, but when some are limited to 150 bottles or you can’t get them without going to the brewery then it wouldn’t make a lot of sense for them to win a nationwide contest.

I had it a couple of months ago. The specifics are a little fuzzy at this point, but I'm pretty sure I was disappointed and wouldn't get it again. That was partially due to the fact that it was an expensive can, and partially because I think there are better coconut stouts out there.

There are definitely better coconut stouts out there, and this one seems a bit more....mass produced, but it's decent. I'm not sure how prices are elsewhere, but for me it was like an $8 can, not terrible for a 10% or so stout.
