I just ordered the ingredients for a cascade pale ale, a blonde, and an imperial stout. Hopefully I can get my pipeline going so I can drink more of my own beer. It helps that it keeps getting better with every batch.

I am working on getting a good base stout to experiment with different flavors and adjuncts down the road.

"Deception Cream Stout" on homebrewtalk was my go-to for awhile, as well as a robust porter (really drinks like a nice stout to me). I may have to brew that porter this weekend....or maybe something totally different. Who knows.

I’m actually brewing the bee cave haus pale ale and the biermuncher centennial blonde. The stout is sort of my own recipe picked from a few different recipes. The robust porter will definitely be added to the list.

I found some Maris Otter LME laying around and I decided to do a Maris Otter and Mosaic hop SMaSH IPA. This will be my first actual IPA I have brewed so we will see how it comes out. Liquid extract is not ideal, but I didn’t want a whole can to go to waste.

How does the OMB compare to the Sierra Nevada?

OMB is better, IMO. Less bitter. I was saying that last years collaboration was better but couldn’t remember who Sierra Nevada brewed with. It was Weihenstephaner. That one was good. My favorite has been Ayinger. Going to try some new ones this year. I do enjoy a good Oktoberfest:

That’s quite the collection of fest beers. I am on the hunt to try most of the local offerings.

With all this recent talk of brewing, thought I would share this write up about yeasts and processes by a local brewer... Tin Roof Brewery

Took the new guy to his first Brewers game! 12 days old and slept from the time we pulled outa the driveway until we returned home 4.5 hours later! Much different experience going to a game with a baby!
