Not tart at all, really smooth. The grapefruit flavor is surprisingly good. I am not a fruit in my beer kind of guy either.

How much does it cost to brew your own beer? It's something I have wanted to do for a bit. I helped with the making of moonshine before and that was rather cost efficient. I hate paying $10+ for a 6 pack

This all grain recipe for me with 2 packs of yeast, a hop bag, distilled water, and ice costs about $80 for a 10 gallon batch.

    Your mileage my vary.

Haven't had it but I've heard good things. Have you had breckenridge's vanilla porter? It's pretty good, especially at around 50-55 degrees. The vanilla is subtle but really starts to pop out as it warms a little.

And if there is anything I've learned from beer and wine tastings/classes/tours, is that you can make anything a word and a descriptor lol

Yup, I've had the same. The darker the beer the more the flavor opens up as it warms (IMO) some stronger iPad are better warmer too.

Onto a Blue Point Mosaic IPA now.

Mammoth brewing 395 DIPA. Not too bad, but a little syrupy. Interesting flavors, that's for sure.

Which one and what didn't you like about it? My favorite Barleywines are bourbon county barleywine, Firestone Sucaba and Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine. BA barleywines are one of my favorite styles but I much prefer english style. American BW is usually too hoppy, if I want that flavor ill grab a double IPA.
