That will be awesome. I’ve been to Germany multiple times but never for Oktoberfest. Hoping to make the trip in the next few years.

Yeah, you definitely need to do it. We're at the point where we go every 2-3 years now.

Took the little man to his first breweries yesterday. Slept through it all. Didn't get a picture of the tasty hazies at green cheek. Bruery was empty, cheek was packed. Saw a silver Tacoma with some ditch lights and rims/tires, not sure if it was anyone here.

It’s definitely on the sweet side. Very marketable BBA for the masses.

3 Floyd’s Alpha Klaus Christmas Porter. I don’t even know where to begin with this train wreck of a beer. The aroma is roastiness and pine. The flavor is pine, pine, a whole lot of astringency, and a little more pine. The finish is drier than Guinness. This is more like a too-roasty black IPA. The bitterness of the roasted malt does not play well with the piney hops. I’m assuming that instead of a typical spiced beer, they were going for the Christmas tree effect. This is one of the worst commercial craft beers I’ve had.

I’m not denying the science behind good and beer pairings, but I’ll usually stick to something on the lighter side with pizza.

Having said that, I’m not even a huge fan of beer and food. I’d rather drink beer before and after, and just enjoy some water while eating. I love beer and I love food but I enjoy them best separately.

Went back to the bar, because ya know, and we got Goose BCBS and Founders CBS. BCBS immediately was entirely too sweet.
