    Well, I can find it at most bottle shops near me in NC. It sure about Memphis or Arkansas. I would think it would be easier to find that way since it’s closer to “the source”. Good luck in your search!

    Harkening back to the chat in September about making eggnog....so I did. Make it, I mean.

    Well, i reckon I did pretty good, actually....I lasted a bit better than two months before caving in to those voices and 'testing' the sample jar i set aside from the main batch. I justified it by A: feeling equal parts justifiably proud and beleaguered, after painting a den and bedroom for The Boss. All. Day. Long. For. Two. Days. and B: because of "A", I had not yet had an opportunity to restock my favourite ales.

    This ain't yo' momma's eggnog.

    Sitting there quietly, watching a NCIS re-run (I sometimes turn to Hollywood to remind me of all the things I did incorrectly when I was working) sipping this wonderful, creamy glass of bliss (which looked suspiciously like the paint I mentioned above) and life was perfect....well, near perfect...really, NCIS needs more Agent Bishop and much less Agent McGee. Anyway, at a lull in the action I elected to stand up and discovered that my Man Cave had apparently become unattached from the planet....

    The eggnog is wonderful...it is flavourful and creamy, with but a hint of a bite, and just enough sweetness to keep you wanting more...and to make you forget it contains ETOH...a lot of ETOH. It is just that it sneaks up on you like being kicked in the back of head.

    I had sampled just a drop when I first made it, and it tasted brash and harsh...2 months a bit later, it is....smmmooootttthhh...i am betting some more time will improve that aspect.

    I also made a tiny batch completely sans sucre (cuz the aforementioned Boss doesn't like sweet stuff) and it is very nice..it ain't eggnog without the sweetness, but imagine sipping a fine cognac mixed with heavy cream...a bite, for sure, but very sippable...

    My compliments to Alton Brown...

    Somehow the thought of putting a couple ounces of Captain Morgan's into a glass of Lucerne Christmas Special Eggnog doesn't sound anywhere near as appealing...

    wow I’m glad you posted this. I have 3 jars of this in the back of my fridge I forgot about. I made it back around September I believe. Will be trying some out when I get home.
