    sooo happy right now.

I should start getting into beer trading on the west coast. I think most of California and Washington can get beer to PDX within a day for not a lot of $? And viceversa???

    Happy Sunday everyone!

Most folks use flat rate boxes to get around weight, and they come with “guaranteed” dates as well.

good on you for waiting 3 weeks lol. What did your abv come out to? As ndub said it should be fine, just needs more time. I’ve read about imperial stouts taking over a month to properly bottle condition.

The abv came out to 9.56 but hides it really well. This was also my first time adding oak.

I have only tried a couple tripels but I can see that oak could definitely add an interesting character to that type of beer.

I'd look into a priming calculator as well. They can help to understand how much to use rather than a blanket 5oz/5gal like all the kits give you. Also, keep them somewhere warm, not out in a cold garage or something, and maybe pick them up and give them a swirl occasionally, but generally, just takes more time.

That being said, mine have always been underprimed when using calculators

    Step 1: get box
    Step 2: get beer
Step 3: wrap beer in bubble wrap if glass bottles. Otherwise just fill box with paper/packing material to keep from moving excessively.
Step 4: send that shit off with whatever shipping company you desire. Do not tell them there is alcohol in the box.

In their defense the box was pretty wet. Same thing when @YotaBum sent me a box and they broke a bottle. I’ve never had one I’ve shipped been delayed

From now on I add a step 3a and place bubble wrapped bottles in a tied trash bag... Just in case they decide to kick the box up the driveway again haha!

Went to the bottle shop that was clearing out their craft beer selection to see if they had anymore of the BOGO Evil Twin Some People Are Immune To Good Advice BBA Maple stout. Unfortunately they were sold out of that, but they were doing 3 bottles of various beer for $10.

Friday I was in a hurry and grabbed - Prairie Deconstructed Bomb Vanilla
    Prairie Christmas Bomb
    Thomas Hardy Historical Ale 2017

Tried both of the Prairie beers Friday night and was glad I didn’t pay full price. The Vanilla was ok, but I thought the Christmas Bomb was pretty bad.

Got back Sunday evening and had a little more time to go through everything... Ended up with 6 bombers and a 4 pack -
Westbrook/Evil Twin Mini Growler Imperial Stout
-Evil Twin Imperial Doughnut Break Imperial Porter
-Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break Stout
-Jekyll Brewing Off The Grid English Barleywine
    -Jekyll Brewing Copious Imperial Stout
    -Jailhouse Judge Barleywine
-Evil Twin Even More Bible Belt Imperial Stout 4pk

Pretty good haul for $30, considering the Evil Twin Even More Bible Belt 4 pack retails for about $28!

Oh lord, Untappd is going to try again. I hope this one goes smoother. I will be in Columbus, OH for a rock festival that weekend or I’d give it a shot, especially with an 1130 slot.

I had a pretty sweet porch bomb of OH beer waiting on me from a trade on Homebrewtalk.com. Looking forward to trying these.
