This weeks Burial drop. I will probably hold off ordering for a couple weeks as my “cellar” is quite full. Now that warmer weather is getting here I doubt I’ll be cracking too many of these open.

Took a trip to relax on the water in Arizona, broke the boat, fixed the boat, broke the boat a little, maybe fixed the boat, then drank to forget about fixing the boat, and then spent all yesterday packing and driving back hungover. Good weekend.

Last rip I ran out of gas twice. Stupid pig of a motor.
Then the fuel pump took a shit. It was 15+ yrs old. Then my alternator wiring took a shit. Battery died. Was an interesting trip last year but still had a great time.

My alternator adjusting bracket broke in half last year, so it stopped charging, and I couldn't get it to start after I drove up river to float down.

This time the forward-reverse diverter cable housing finally broke (needed to replace it for like 2 years now, oops), then realized my fuel tank selector valve wasn't switching, and i couldnt draw out of one of my tanks. tapped it with a hammer a few times, and I think it started working, but we didnt have much more time to use it after that to make sure

We will see, maybe I can hang until the humidity gets above 85%. It's cool and rainy the next couple days so I see myself breaking at least one open.

I’m still trying to find SN hoptinum or Lagunitas Waldo’s but this was a good substitute.

Kegged my @relkins0413 Best Bitter yesterday. It's pretty good now, but a little yeasty and will be much better once it clears...

    20200519_174915.jpg

Finished much lower than expected at 1.009 (was expecting 1.015 - must have been the Lyle's syrup), making for 4.6% ABV, which puts this brew right in line for the Best Bitter style.

I liked that one a lot more than Waldos. Have you had it? I wouldn't bother now, it's past it's prime, being a 4/20 release. When i bought a 6 pack the other year the first two were ok, and the next couple I had about a week-2 later were just slightly bitter syrup.

looks great! According to my notes, mine finished at 1.012 but my OG was 1.049. I plan to try my next iteration with Lallemand ESB yeast. It took a couple weeks, but the yeast completely fell out.

That’s been my experience with Hoptimum and Hopslam. I did have a good Waldo’s last year. I’ve pretty much given up on the big IPAs unless I can find them fresh.

I’m drinking this “cuvée” tonight. It was way too cold when I poured it as I forgot it in the fridge and it was pure alcohol on the nose and a slightly tart taste. After I let it warm considerably, it is much better with loads of vanilla on the nose and the palate.
