Bottled my mixed-ferm table saison today. This guy dried out to 1.000 or maybe below. The taste is honestly a bit bland, but they say that Brett takes time. We shall see.

Had a nice new brew collab from Bruery/Moksa/Mikerphone that I liked a lot. Then re-brewed my hazy with WLP-066 London Fog and threw it in my new shiny fermenter. Had to make room for it, so I kegged my sour brown on second use cherries, which proved to be a giant hassle when I tried doing a pressure transfer (I'm noticing a pattern here). My spare reg was leaking, I couldnt hold pressure, it wouldnt hold a siphon and it just plain made life difficult. I tried limiting 02 and feel like I just maximized it instead.

 

What better way to start the week than by brewing some beer and smoking some meats?

 

How are you liking it?

 

Today was my first brew day with it. Some definite growing pains, but once my process with it is dialed in it will be great. So glad I ran a 240v circuit for it. Mash to boil in right at 15 minutes.

 

Yeah, first brew days on a new system can be hectic. You've coming from a 1 gallon stovetop BIAB right? That's a definite shift... Yeah, I couldnt imagine doing it with a 110 without an extra heat source.

 

Definitely boozy but good.

Thought you fellow beer nerds might appreciate this. My Grandfather had this and another lighted beer sign in his basement. I can’t remember the other sign but I liked this one as a kid. I hadn’t seen it in 15 years and thought it must’ve gotten broken or trashed. Found it at my Dad’s last week. He was cleaning out some stuff and had thrown it in the recycling bin, couldn’t believe it. It still lights up AND spins. Something for the man cave.
