I don’t mind hearing opinions good or bad for any of them.

I'll definitely post up some opinions once I get to them. Gonna let them sit in the fridge for a while so they can get nice and cold.

My buddy's friend just went to Other Half in Brooklyn and brought up some stuff. So I also have 12 different beers to get to of theirs. All 12 are different.

I had a freshly flown in keg(anstich) Fisher Rauchbier many a moon ago for OctoberFest (along with several other beauties). Somewhere I have a sign that reads “One more for the road”…

 

Wasn't a big fan until I went to the brewery and had it from the barrel. One amazing beer with a good story.

 

Ok, so let's tap into the 12 different beers that I got today, from Other Half.

Sorted them out by lowest to the highest AVB.

First up, Blue Crab.

 

Doing a short road trip on Vancouver Island....staying at a delightful little B&B in the metropolis of Nanoose Bay...Arrowsmith Brewery next door in Parksville

The neighbour apparently doesn't like ales.. and I reckon he'd be a lot loss friendly if he knew what I do in October ....

 

Looking like regulars now…

 

Same B&B, same firepit, same Brewer, upgraded quaff. Lovely stuff, like a nice Espresso, with a bite.

Given the near apocalyptic storms they get here, 'Low Pressure' seems appropriate. Pretty sure a good Porter is your only friend here in January

And that annoying little Island Mulie doesn't like Porters either, apparently.

But he does like strawberries.

I bet our host is gonna be pissed when he goes searching for dessert tomorrow

Alright my fellow beer bros, question time.

Going to Allentown PA on Saturday. Just for the day basically. Wife's cousin lives there and is getting married.

Anyone on here that lives there, or near there, that can recommend some good local craft stuff to pick up and bring back home?

Found a local brewpub as we came through Nanaimo.

Anyone not from here calls it Whalley-by-the-Sea. For our brothers and sisters south of the 49th Parallel, that'd be like "Detroit-by-the-Sea".

Of course, those who pay attention would remind us sanctimonious Mainland types that there hasn't actually been a gang shooting here in recent memory.

As opposed to Vancouver, where it is the 2021 pastime of the year

The Stoutnik Russian Imperial Stout was truly amazing. Soft and creamy and chocolatey, no bite at all, came off like silk. Just a kick as the liver suddenly metabolizes that 8%

Couple that with extraordinary service, great chicken wings and steak n kidney pie, and most of all, a Nanaimo Bar cheesecake.

It IS Nanaimo after all. There is actually no other dessert allowed here.

Almost makes up for the chemically addled SR we caught trying to break into the Mercedes parked next to us. He made a passable attempt at feigning shock when we suggested we didn't believe that it was his car and he'd locked his keys inside.
