The last leftover from our trip to Saltspring Island

Had to try it, if only to be true to my Celtic roots.

Alas, kind of a non-event....very mild, soft, easy to drink....no particular flavour....

Ah well, of the six or so Saltspring Brewery offerings, this is the only one I wouldn't do again...not a bad average

Finishing the whole bottle did, however, inspire me to wonder at the reference to a kilt and the picture of the sheep, and the disturbing relationship between the two.

 

Cool name and graphics on the can....worth it just for that

 

And for the taste as well!

Hitting the spot really well after having to go to Newark NJ, to drop off the in-laws at the airport.

Happy Canada Day, everyone! Politics of the day aside, it is indeed a great to be Canuck....

Cool, cloudy day on the Lower Mainland, unlike the rest of the province, which is pretty much all on fire. Pretty much expecting a plague of locusts next. Or zombies.

A takeaway from our time on Vancouver Island last week....and once again, a tip of my Mountie stetson to to the TW lads and lasses in New England who shamelessly peer-pressured me into breaking out of my lager-and-porter box and venturing into the perilous world of IPAs....

This is a truly wonderful quaff; good enough, in fact, that I had two. It was at that point that I was made to realize that in addition to being crisp and refreshing, IPAs tend to pack a hidden punch...






And i take no credit for the following graphic; it is courtesy of Norilsk, one of our TW lads in Ontario...I just thought it was cool.

Don't think too much about what the beaver and goose could possibly be doing....besides playing hockey, I mean.

 

They do tend to sneak up on you on a nice day! Cheers.
