Spending the night at my aunt and uncle's in Virginia before continuing back up to PA, and my uncle let delve into his personal stash...

 

I miss Clown Shoes Brewing. I haven’t seen any of their beers in my area since pre Covid.

 

Had this brew while in Liverpool area of Syracuse, NY...really good Hazy IPA!

What brewery is that? Local? Looks familiar.

Disappointing. Their nitro milk stout is delicious. Velvety smooth.

First of the day. Watching the disc golf championships. Nice frothy head, bit of spice and a super easy drinker.

I like the regular nitro stout, this one sucked.

This is essentially a nectar smoothie sour… it’s a touch too sweet, but otherwise quite different and delicious. Makes the tapped Purple Haze look “a tad cloudy”.

So, I'm always up to try something new.

Beer, I mean.

I'm pretty sure that extending that philosophy to other arenas would end badly for me. There are times that I reconsider the wit and wisdom of having taught my wife to shoot and buying her a Glock

But anyway...

Most often a new beer - or other intoxicant - in a new and exotic locale goes down wonderfully. Courtesy, no doubt, of my Redneck roots I am not 'specially discerning in my tastes and will happily quaff down whatever is before me. At worst, I will decree that I shan't imbibe in another of the same. That works, and does not leave me in fear of a Hydrashok, as would 'just trying' other things

The lovely (aren't they all, alas, at my age) young lady at the corner grocery next to our hotel on C. Berlin here in Miraflores was adamant that I would enjoy this. And it was truly local, made right here in Lima.

Cool.

Or so i thought.

Clearly we have different tastes, perhaps due the forty year age gap betwixt us...a fact that I conveniently disregarded as I rather shamelessly flirted with her. With my Wife-Of-The-Glock standing beside me.

Or maybe she was just punishing me. Perhaps it wasn't just my lovely blushing bride that caught me staring.

Anyway...

Does anyone except me remember that awful purple flavour (when you're 8 years old, 'purple' IS indeed a bonafide flavour) Bazooka bubblegum from the late 60s?

That's what this tasted like, but with a lager aftertaste. Apparently I am not a pre-teen any longer. This stuff was vile. Spawn of the devil awful. Almost couldn't choke it down bad

Good thing it's 12 %...after the second sip, as my fingers and toes and tongue went numb, the subsequent sips were manageable.

I'm pretty sure this ale(ish) has but one role...do y'all recall some imbibements from our youth being touted for their ability to make undergarments disappear?
