Alpine is a local favorite down here in San Diego that you pretty much had to go to the brewery or stores close by to get. Green Flash bought them last November and has ramped up production and distribution. This is great as long as they keep using the same recipes...which from the beers that I have had the quality is still there.

Nice! See you're using some old shiner bottles...used to live in TX and worked around Shiner and took a tour of their brewery a few years ago...cool place!

Nice find! Cool to see they're bottling and distributing more. We went there a couple summers back during the World Cup. They had a coffee kolsch that was awesome. I still haven't found anything like it

??? Dunno why you're quoting me on that...I don't bottle anything nor brew my own beer...but I can imagine it can be done...seeing as how beer is put into screw top bottles everyday

Love Shiner. One of my favorites!
But yeah bottling with screw tops is different with the home brew situations because when a cap is crimped it forms a better seal with a pop off bottle. When you are using a handheld bottler and the cap is crimped around the screw tops, it is harder to get the ridges from the screw top crimped with the cap to form a seal. At least that is my understanding.
My professor said he once made a batch of beer and only used screw off bottles and only one bottle didn't get carbonated because of a faulty seal so I am hoping for the best! If not it'll be used for cooking beer

While I find it easy to ignore the Guinness glass (that you've since switched out), I'm finding it less easy to ignore what appears to be a crocodile in the background. Grab the beer and run.

Finally broke down and tried this:

I like it; the pineapple is subtle.
