    And a Bridgeport offering. In does not feel like winter here yet but what the ale :bananadance:. This is another tasty brew. Not very complicated though, if thats your thing.

    To make this beer even better than its stock version, this was immediately after 50 miles and 6 nights in the high Sierra backcountry of Yosemite. Here's one of the vistas for some perspective. The good life.image.jpg

    @WildLand

    I've just made a coconut coffee porter. This is my all grain attempt using my old partial mash recipe.

    What I did was put the coconut in the boil for about 15 min left (hops bag, for sure). Then I toasted the coconut and added it to the secondary (bagged again). What are you planning on doing for the chocolate? I had good experience using cocoa nibs.

    Whatever you do, make sure you use unsweetened. Unless you want an ABV bewst.

    I was thinking cocoa nibs! I've only done extract brewing and not all grain yet. I was thinking of getting a stout kit then add the coconut and cocoa nibs and just read up when to put them in exact. I was unsure about how to do the coconut because people were talking about the oils may be messing with the process.

    Depending on how much cocoa you add you may want to have some lactose on hand for when you bottle. Otherwise you might end up with a really bitter brew.

    If you toast the coconut the sweetness should be enough to not need lactose. Depends how sweet you want it

    I wouldn't want it too sweet like almond joy sweet, but sweet enough that it reminds you of an almond joy like (death by coconut). I love the seasonal Death by Coconut by Oskar Blues, but $11 a 4 pack gets ridiculous.

    I've tried that once and it worked okay. We couldn't get it to crack with sink water so we dunked it in an ice cold water bucket. Also where the string crosses each other it left a big devout. As this was a college drinking project we said fuck it and recycled them as it would be too much work to sand.

    Here is what you'd really need!
