The Beer Nerd - what are you drinking / brewing thread

OK, why doesn't Ballast Point have a beer finder like others do.

 

Not quite sure, I'm in retail so I am able to see a wide variety of product. Their Big Eye IPA is good too

 

I am a stout fan and always will be, but things have changed over the years. Used to love Reds (not so much now), was digging Porters (Anchor Steam has always been a favorite), than I got really into Belgium styles because of the OG factor. Now I'm really into super hoppy brews, basically IPAs. Pallet changes with age.

 

With you on that, I like Goose. In fact I just bought a 12 pack with their Experimental Brew from their Autumn selection, that's super tasty too.

I know this beer had been posted, but anyone who enjoys a quality stout. Can argue, this is one of the top five commercially available stout in the market.

Pretty good. Not the best IPA I've had but I would buy it again.

 

I don't see a lot of Ballast Point variety at the places I frequent and when I make to the larger beer stores I (and my wallet) tend to get overwhelmed with the hundreds of choices. So I check out places like this insearch of feedback and the opinions of others.

 

I find the best variety here (its Hawaii, so limited) at Whole Foods. The price isn't different than what I'd find it for in other stores with less variety.. as long as I stick to buying what I came for.

But interweb has everything, when I go visit beer spots out here I usually look on the internet to see what they have on tap and that's how I make my call

I can help you here.
When going here only go directly (into) not on shelf of fridge, the walk-in.
Everything else when it comes to ipas will be spoiled because it will be sitting on the floor.

 

Yep, I pull my IPAs from the cooler as well. It's the ever growing selection of barrel aged choices that I can't keep up with. And I'm one of those guys in the store taking pictures of beer for further online research.

 

Look for Cigar City Jai Alai IPA. I'm not sure if a regular grocery store would have it, or if you'd need to go to a beer store.
