I haven't had any of the new "Voo Doo" series beers but have heard only good things so far. Definitely more west coast style brews than the same NB style.

    Indeed!

It's a great beer. Smallish place with pretty limited distribution. They put out some killer beer though! The distributor is local to me and I can get their IPAs fresh pretty regularly. Sometimes as fresh as 3 days old!

    Brew day!!!

So, last weekend my daughter brings home a bottle of Chimay Red. As we're pouring, the homebrewer in me says, "hey, I should harvest the yeast in that bottle," so I did and proceded to make a yeast starter.

    WP_20170202_001.jpg

Once the starter took off and showed itself to be viable, I thought, "I need to brew something with this." So, I put together a simple recipe for a Belgian Blond Ale and am brewing it right now.

    WP_20170203_003.jpg

Hopefully, this brew will be kegged and ready to drink in about two weeks.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying a chocolate coffee imperial stout on nitro that I brewed last February.

I did this with Heady Topper. I've got a good jar ready for a brew in a week or so
