I had this on tap last week and liked it. Have seen it at my grocery and thought I'd give it a try.
It is nicely done. Little on the bitter side. Very nice smell and quite easy to drink. It is a 5.5% ale.
    I would recommend it.

If you need more fermenters, I recommend not getting the fermonsters. Me and the GF have 4. They are nice in size, and easier to clean, but I hate moving them without carriers.
    They flex too much.

This may sound horrible, but the Norther Brewer Big Mouth Bubbler is a much better product.

This is I think $10.00 cheaper ($29). Add in the fact its wider opening, you truly can get your arm all the way in if you have biceps.
Best of all, the ribs which greatly increase the sidewall strength.

There there is the coup de grace. For another 50, the dry-hopping solution.

Note the pushrod, for pushing the hops down.

^ I had one of the plastic ones and second ferment out it cracked on the bottom.

Had the same problem with better bottle plastic too. But it lasted at least six months.

Maybe I'm hard on them somehow.

I use buckets now with no problems.

I've also never used glass.. read too many horror stories.

I'm looking into SS though. I think that's the solution.

Got the fermosters at the last minute and the big opening is great but right away I didn't like how easy the sides give in. I have always use glass but just didn't have enough glass carboys so my lhs had these for $30. Always wanted to give those big mouth bubblers a try since they came out.

All the equipment and gadgets are half the fun of brewing but man can it hurt the wallet. I would do terrible things for some nice ss conicals with a glycol setup.

 Looks like they have some great stuff there. It has been years since I have been there.
That may have to be a trip for me to take. With a stop at a fine brewery on the way, of course.

There are really that many cases left? :anonymous:

Before I knew any better I used to carry my full glass carboys upstairs by the red neck handle. Then I saw some of the horror stories online and nearly pooped myself. Can't imagine 5+ gal of sticky yeasty wort cascading down the stairs. The wife truly would kill me

Also check out Henry St Taproom in Saratoga, if you haven't already. They have a good tap list with some hard to find beers.

I had a taster/splash months back at Mumford Brewing in Los Angeles and you could barely tell the taste of Chicken.Mumford were experimenting and i'm not actually sure if they ended up releasing it or are going to.I just so happened to stop in that day and was able to try it.

    Yikes!

this is more what I'm concerned with... People talk about severing tendons.

Although like anything else this is a small sample size and many people use glass with no problems. I ferment in a chest freezer so lifting up and down is what I'm concerned with.

    Warning graffic*

Meh, it's not a really hobby unless you spill a little blood every now and then.

When I do use glass I but them in a milk crate for easier and safer handling

Almost lost my finger to my mill one morning. I wasn't fully awake yet and my finger got a bit too close to the 12" pully on the 1/2 HP motor. That kinda ruined brew day.

I've always been worried about my glass carboys but so far I haven't injured myself. I have broken one though. You just got to respect the glass and be careful. I cringe when my dad handles them.
