Are these meant to be combined just before drinking?

Meh. I enjoy a good pils or lager but I don't have them often. Marzens are alright. I'm more of an IPA, sour, and stout drinker.

Double brew day. Finishing the export stout. Currently sparing the Crux porter clone.

Phenomenal. My Urbock clone fell a bit short. But it took 1st in smoke beer at the Dixie Cup and was in the running for best of show. I will try again and add some melanoidin...

I've been more into sours than IPAs lately. You should try Ritterguts Gose. Hard to find, but very good.

    nice!

Although why siphon when you have that nice valve just sitting there?

I pick up my *whole kettle and dump it into my fermenting bucket then dump that back into my kettle then back into the bucket a few times... I don't have an O2 system and that works ok.

I also only do 5 or so gallon batches.

I got no answers. You are right. get a funnel under it and use the valve and get some oxygenations. A habit of the homebrewing GF.

Pulled 2 5G Czech Pil carboys out last night for diacetyl rest.
I special ordered Weyermann Bohemian Floor malted pils for this crack at Czech Pils.

There are no innocents around here...

    Cup Czech Pils

    2/9/17

    (10 gallons)
20 lbs Weyerman Czech floor malted pils
    1 lb Weyerman Acidulated Malt
    12 oz rice hulls

    5.4 ph, mash @152 for 60

    4 oz Saaz pellets 2.2% 60:00
    4 oz Saaz pellets 2.2% 30:00
    2 oz Saaz pellets 2.2% 05:00
    2 oz Saaz pellets 2.2% 00:00

    5G 1060 WYeast 2278
    5G 1062 WLP 802

OK, probably didnt need the rice hulls, but it was 10G/double batch paranoia.

I fucked up, did a starter on the Wyeast, but slacked, left the WLP out at room temp for 2 days, it didnt start worth shit so after 4 days I added a Mangrove Jack Bohemian Pils dry yeast. Oops. Stupid fuck.

There seems to be a bunch of people complaining about sulphur off that Wyeast. I will see.

3 days diacetyl rest at room temp. Then crash to 32, rack into keg and lager.

Ive been hammering down some - Melvin Brewing MPA
    Tight

Hubert? I’ve heard of him. A friend of a friend knows him. Apparently he’s awesome, but we’ve never met. Well. It’s about time you did. Most you connoisseurs would just call him an IPA, but we call him an MPA. The Melvin Pale Ale. A welcomed hand shake to your taste buds. Light, crisp, fresh and a little bitty bitter. Lets just say he won’t be that jerk that leaves you at the bar at 2am. He’s low in alcohol. What a nice guy… that Hubert.
