Indeed, was a special bottle release. He gets in before public for most there events. That was like 3 weeks ago so thought they might still have tapped.

I really like their mexi chocolate stout. Have a Fulton St. IPA in fridge as we speak.

I found a bunch of Melvin last night. The IPAs were reduced price, and canned in August. Needless to say, I passed on them.

Looks like they use contract brewing. I could be wrong but pilsner, vienna, ipa and porter...

Sounds like they went "hey what can you make for me"? Its fairly common actually.

A local taproom "brewery" is opening up locally to me and they are planning on contract brewing for awhile.

Another Brewing day. Kind of a leftover brewing day.

I had 1/3 of a Barleywine grain bill available, which was originally
    18 lb Pale
    1 lb Munich
    1 lb Extra Light Crystal.

I estimated the remainder as :
    6 lbs Pale
    .35 lbs Light Munich
    .35 lbs Light Crystal

I also have a bunch of older hops, vaccuum packed. Simcoe, Chinook, Summit
I did open and smell before using (and tasted a few)

I was originally going to make a double IPA.
    So I went and got
    7 lbs 2 Row
    1.5 lbs Light Munich
    .5 lbs Light Crystal
    .5 lbs Acidulated

Then I decided I would rather use up more hops and make 2 beers.
So I went and got another
    7 lbs Domestic 2 Row.

I made 13 gallons of wort from

    14 lbs Domestic 2 Row
    6 lbs Domestic Pale
    1.85 lbs Light Munich
    .85 lbs British Light Crystal
    .5 lbs German Acidulated

    Chris Colby IPA water treatment
    2g Gypsum/1g Epsom/1g CaCL/.5g Chalk (for 5 gallons)

    Mash @ 149-150 70 minutes

    Batch 001

    1 oz Nugget 14.9% 60:00
    1 oz Nugget (2011) 13.3% 60:00
    8 oz Sugar 60:00
    2 oz Simcoe 12% 20:00
    1 oz German Blanc 7.2% 05:00
    1 oz Columbus 14.9% 05:00

    OG 1072
    Mangrove Jack M-79 Burton Union

    Batch 002

    2 oz Chinook 12% 60:00
    3 oz Simcoe 12% 30:00
    1 oz German Blanc 7.2% 15:00
    1 oz German Blanc 7.2% 05:00

    OG 1061
    Mangrove Jack M-79 Burton Union

I put 5gal of water treatment in the mash.
Sparged to 13 gallons, never dropped below 10 brix.
Added 10gal of water treatment to the wort.

The brewshop was out of Wyeast London III (1318), my go to IPA yeast, so i used the Mangrove Jack equivalent.
2 packets pitched and started Tuesday. I was going to brew yesterday but drizzling all day.
