    It’s great beer but three years old is too long.

    Bottle caps let small amounts of O2 in unfortunately and that’s what causes the cardboard taste, which I am too sensitive to.


    One gift of my many homebrew mistakes...

    Nope. Going to check one more place.

    I have 2012 through 2016 so this year would have made five but after drinking some of my older stuff. Not sure they’re good anymore.

    I might need to rethink stashing beer more than a year.

    O2 made it past the bottle cap and now the beer taste like coardboard.

    Beer went stale basically.

    Bottle caps aren’t airproof unfortunately

    I figured as much, but...

    The Sierra Nevada Narwhal that has supposedly oxidized doesn't look bad.

    However, as a barback one of my jobs is to empty a bucket of warm "beer runoff" on a fairly regular basis, so I've seen far worse when it comes to beer that has gone bad...
