But maybe the positive pressure on the cap to keep O2 out; will out weight the negatives? Just put it upright in the fridge for a week or so before you drink it

That's been the thing holding me back from buying a wine fridge for my beer. Since you're supposed to store upright, you can't really store many in the fridge. Maybe one day I'll be rich and can have a beer cellar with all the goodies

I'm making a trip to NE coast this May!

I'm down to pay for the beer plus a little food on your table for some Focal Banger, El Jefe, and Topper. I've shipped quite a bit of beer and can help with logistics if needed.

I have more boxes of foaming soap...

Wow that sounds awesome!! I like to mix some beers and see what I can come up with. Would love to try the cobbler on draft sometime.

 

Why?

I like being able to drink seasonal beers when they arent in season.

It probably makes me a terrible person that I have some 4 year old beers in my fridge too?

 

Some beers are fine to age. I have a bottle from 2012 tucked away. But the hops in nugget nectar as it's more of an IPA, they degrade and the taste drops off exponentially. I've had some shipped to me. I had one as soon as I got it, forgot about the other one for a month and it tasted completely different and was not nearly as good.

 

I think this Nugget Nectar tastes the same as it did when I bought last spring.

 

Not a chance, if you still have 1 last bottle save it until you get the new one and it will be obvious that the hop aroma has deteriorated significantly after 1 year, and the bitterness will be more harsh, and it will taste sweeter.

I have read this before, due to lack of space and appetite for beer this is my option lol

Don’t store anything longer then a year.

These are all Porters, Sours and Stouts. All other beers are kept in a the fridge.

 

Space is definitely an issue. I would figure something else out but that's just me haha. Definitely leave it upright for a week before drinking though like @nDub said to try and let the yeasts and particulates settle to the bottom

 

What do you do when it’s a crappy day outside, you and your wife finally get a day off together, kiddo is asleep and you have a fridge full of craft beer? You play Mario bros on your original Nintendo from being a kid and drink beer!
