Here's the round of beers we enjoyed this afternoon for Fermentation Fridays.

OH! And a home-brew russian imperial stout aged for three months in an oak bourbon barrel. This was very tasty!!!!

 

Thoughts? I really liked it

Lol. East Irondequoit, that's where I grew up. Still have family and most of my friends live there.

 

I loved it! The wife said it was really citrousy. I thought it was good. And yeah, that's where she lives. LOL

the other night. Pretty damn good.

 

At Bluejacket. Best brewery in DC
Its inside an old ship construction building.

Munich Helles not sweet, a bit cabbage and sulfur, not a good example of the style.

Kamera IPA doesn't work for me either. The hop combination leaves a hole in the middle of the beer.

Forbidden Planet. Change the name to Forbidden Hopping it will be more accurate. An innocent airy headed Kolsch was walking down the street and a pallet of Galaxy fell on its head and killed it. Technically not against the Rhineheitsgebot but it should be..

Goldfinch. A ho-hum Blonde that was dry hopped and wasn't asked to be. The esters are covered up. It needs some standard spicing instead.

Yardbird bitter and Eton Rifles are 2 outstanding examples of the style. Both are screaming for a hand pump.

Wallflower is nice, a restrained sour, tastes close to a low lactic Berlinner Weisse.

Mexican Radio is awesome.

Turning Road IPA is very good.

Homemade Tots IPA is outstanding, it's the hopheads first choice here, with the Everyday IPA giving it a run for its money.

Anacostia I like, others might not. I am enjoying the hops.

Pattern Skies is a mediocre Weissbier. Creeping by on low esters and some tangy flavor that is not to style. Bad/poor strain, under pitched or fermented at the wrong temp. Sucks.

Lagerfarm is a clean lager with non aggressive hopping.

 

Do they really run the beers at different temps? I've never seen a place do that. It drives me nuts when all the beers are served at one temp- ice cold.

this is good stuff. The bravo is a really good drinker and has a gorgeous smell to it

Black and Tan?

 

I had the coconut porter and my daughter had the ipa.

 

Hmm. Hops are more subtle then usual...

Still good though. Crisp.

 

You mean you don't like a 35* stout?

 

Youngest is asleep, wife is laying down with the oldest so he can fall asleep. Chances are she's sleeping already and he's not... Not unusual. So... Thinking about having more than one tonight, so this is the first.
