I was just joking man! 792,000 is impressive though

Most vehicles have autos, most vehicles are also pretty reliable.

This is comedy gold! Junior thinks he’s got special skills because he drives a stick. Doesn’t realize everybody’s mother and grandmother drove a stick back in the day which is why they are going the way of the dinosaur. It’s a tiny resurgence with the hipster millennial crowd who like to feel “special” and think they’re doing something new.

I grew up driving stick and wouldn’t want one if you gave it to me now. No they aren’t more comfortable to drive especially in heavy traffic - quite the opposite. That’s the most asinine statement I think I’ve ever read on a site known for a lot of asinine statements. :smack:

He's probably commenting on this thread using a typewriter eating avocado toast. It's more "authentic" that way.

I thought its been that way even with "dumb" auto transmissions. Ive driven a large number of autos made before 1985, and only two made after. (Everything else has been a stick.) Even with the old automatics there was a bit of throttle feathering involved to upshift or downshift when it suited the terrain. (example, blip the go-pedal right before a hill, or right before the crest of a hill.) I have to admit, with the tacoma it was a learning process to break that driving style and learn how to manipulate the trans despite the computer logic. But once I figured out what it was trying to do and how I could tell it to do what I wanted it to do, its actually easier than the old automatics in a lot of ways. The truck and I get along just fine.

I really hope Im not that old either. I wasnt driving in the eighties, I just owned a lot of used cars.

...Now if you really want to watch a head explode, start a debate on towing limits of said transmissions...

My hunch would be that the transmission can handle more than the truck is rated for because toyota tends to over build things so they are very reliable.

First off, I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings on vehicle transmissions. Sometimes we forget how sensitive grown men can be, especially when it comes to transmissions

Secondly, who is "junior"? Because you seem to have some strong feelings toward them and know their entire life story based on no information haha

Also, who on here is saying that Manual transmissions are more comfortable to drive in traffic?

    Jeez

I don't believe he's talking to you but instead is talking to the 5k transmission guy

Sure glad when buying my Taco, I opt for the holdover 2015 OR model instead of springing for the new gen. Consumer reports advice.....

Ya I think so too, I just wanted to apologize just in case because he is clearly offended, taking shots at people he doesn't know on the internet and making incoherent arguments.

I've stomped it quick and had to wait. It's not easy to duplicate, but it's a real issue. My guess is that the computer is resolving several inputs over and over trying to figure out if the truck is slipping and finally decides that the driver want's to go..... something like that.
