Actually, after reading the oil guy site, someone did some pretty decent testing on some of the major filters out there and the Amsoil one did rather good compared to the others. I think RP beat it, but the price was rather steep for my tastes. That was one reason I started looking down the path of using Amsoil just because they had one of the best filters.

If I recall, there are two majors that basically sell to most all the others and they just rebrand it with their name on it. Amsoil and RP make their own if I recall correctly and I liked the Amsoil one (very close in performance to the RP) and was much, much cheaper.

Again... I keep typing on an oil thread... but, I do like to see what other folks have to say as you can learn some new things if folks keep it reasonable.

Ok... so tell me which M1 was in all those vehicles? Also, did anyone research how much Mobile1 may have paid (or discounted - however you want to look at it) to be in those vehicles instead of the companies standard OE oil?

if Walmart Super Tech had a 0w20 I would use that, with Rebates you can get Mobil1,Penzoil,Quaker State 5 qt. jugs for $15 or maybe less tho.

I usually get it from Amazon, Depends on the time I guess for price. I don't have many options where I live unless I drive at least 45 minutes............

The Walmart by my work sells the 5qt jugs of this for $22. Check your local area for similar deals.

:EDIT: Actually it went up three bucks since I last bought.

As a taxidermist I'm familiar with rot and they would start stinking bad after 24 hrs. Belly swell ups liquids start coming out of holes yuck!!! But maybe the bathroom stunk so bad nobody noticed.

In my California climate I use 5W-30 in winter and 10W-30 in summer. 0W-20 is a tree-hugger political activist oil (saves a slight amount of gasoline at the expense of a slight increase in engine wear) as evidenced by the fact that in countries around the World without fuel economy standards (e.g. Russia) 2017 Toyota owners manuals allow even 10W-50 oils to be used - even in the same engines that are available in the USA.

Might as well use 5w-30 all year round then. There's no benefit to 10w-30. They're both 30 weight at operating temp and the 5w flows better at startup
