Saw these in person for the first time yesterday and I was really impressed with them and if it wasn’t for them not having the snowflake rating I would’ve gotten them. Got the at3w and you can’t go wrong with those either. Super deep lugs, quiet and long lasting.

Duratracs are still my go to at otherwise.

One thing you need to watch with wildpeaks is they do have a p rated option and an e rated. The e looks far more stout with more tread depth but is drastically heavier.

I searched and read over and over again, and Wildpeaks just comes up over and over again.

I bought a set for my Tacoma and drove those tires from Florida all the way up to Alaska.

They did Great except when I spun in Canada on Icy roads. Dont have experience on any other tires, but I think its a good bang for your buck.

I concur with your assessment and want to go with Wildpeaks soon, like this month.
But now I'm torn between size.
I want something a little bigger than the stock 245's but I don't have, nor do I want any lift.
I like my Rekgen flaps and want to keep them.
I do not want to do any cutting.
And I don't want anything to look 'too-big' on my stock SR5.

Now I'm wondering if just going with stock size 245 is my best choice or do I jump up a notch.

Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme on my rig for the last 5k miles.

    Things I know for sure:

    - Very quiet, smooth ride.
    - Treadwear warranty: 60k miles (LT) or 70k (P/metric). 660 treadwear rating
    - Mountain snow peak rated
    - Good Price

    Yet to be seen:

    - actual snow performance
    - actual mud or dirt performance
    - actual tread longevity (obviously)

How agressive they look is entirely your opinion.

i actually went with "highway tires" this time around since 99% of my driving is on pavement even though I love the idea of my truck being an off-road rig. Went with Continental TerrainContact H/Ts. Getting them installed next week. Was going to go with Michelins but these were $50 cheaper a tire and have the same mileage warranty and both got great reviews.

Hey I am all for the kumbaya my brother - get a face tat and purple hair and a giant nose ring and while your at it spend BIG $$$$ to mod out your Taco to "look" like a badass rock crawler but never take it off the hard ball - I'm good with all of it. But, sorry if it upsets you that I notice.

Let me make it simple. If you keep the stock wheels, you can step up your tire 1-1.5" with no rubbing and keep the flaps. If you go bigger than that or go with any other wheel, you're in uncharted territory. Stock wheels are made with an appropriate offset that upsizing the tire a little bit will not rub, even with flaps. You can essentially step up from 245/75 to 265/75 no problem.

You can also just leave the the stock size if you have no reason to go larger, and want to maintain the smaller tire mpg.

FWIW, I hated wildpeaks for numerous reasons.

I still can't figure out where the "ATIII = loud" comes from. I've had KO2 LT E, Duratrac LT C, General Grabber ATX SL, Falken Wildpeak AT3W SL, 2 Sets of Toyo ATIIIs (XL and LT C so both tread styles), Michelin Defender SL, and Hankook Dynapro ATM P SL.

I can honestly say the noise of Toyos has not stood out to me as being louder than any other tires I've ran. I truly don't understand where the noise complaints come from, unless I've gotten a few lucky sets or something. Everything else from wind to engine noise to the radio drowns out any tire noise so much that I can't come up with any of my own complaints about any tire noise specifically related to the Toyos.

Leveled with Bilstein 5100 shocks, Kumho AT52 265/75 tires, Redline hood struts, R4T tailgate lock, Matt Gecko LED strips in bed and under hood, WeatherTech hood guard, OEM bed mat, Husky floor mats, Carhart seat covers, Grille replacement with Toyota letters, Sony AX6000 replacement head unit, OTT lite/mild tune, and an occasional splash of fuel additive.
All kidding aside I have Kumho AT52s. They’ve been great through one winter, quiet to drive on, not sure of longevity yet I’ve had them almost one year. They seem to be wearing very lightly, but I hardly ever go off road. Prior to these tires I had KO2s one size larger. Those tires were terrible in the snow and they were heavy E rated tires. So I went down one tire size (265/75/16) with the Kumho P rated ATs and haven’t looked back. Mileage and ride improved. When I bought these, I looked at all of the popular tire brands out there for comparison and decided to try something different. Reason was that a local tire shop here in Rapid City had these on sale. Will see in a few years whether I made a good decision or not.

I didn't want to kill my MPG so I went with the Firestone Destination X/T in 245/75-16 (LT/E-load) and it only weighs 39 lbs. They're quiet and at 38-40 PSI the truck handles a lot better than with the OEM tires (does ride more firmly, but not super harsh unless you hit a huge pothole). Aired down they are very capable and don't mind sharp rocks. I lost about 1 MPG all around (so from 20 to 19 around town and 23-24 on the highway to 22-23).

Despite being the same size, they are physically a little bigger/beefier/wider than the OEM SL tires that came on it (Destination LE2s).

Naw sticking with stock 16 wheels. I'm an old fart and not looking to impress with big ole honkin tires I simply don't need 'em.
But I do want a beefier look than the stock tires. I'm thinking the 75's would be a hair too much and leaning towards the 70's.
Guess I'll have to find a shop with both so I can look at 'em against the truck side by side.

They're a good price too and while initially I liked the OEM Tire for pavement ( same as on your original .. the LE2 ) I would be hesitant, or very very
careful should I get into off-pavement driving ( as opposed to like rock crawling / real off-roading ). I do hit forest service roads now and again.

I am disappointed after 2.5 years to see them at 5/32 as well, at only 15,000 miles to boot and I rotated every 5k.

Yours do look a little bigger even tho they are the 245/75-16's.... and I'm wondering if the Wildpeaks at 245/75-16 will have the same effect,
appearing a bit bigger, for sure beefier. Hate to go on and on about it but I'm on a fixed income, was born a tightwad and the idea of buying
tires ( at these prices ) make me dizzy.

I asked myself this exact question, needed to blend MPG/weight savings, with snow, all season and rain performance, while reducing noise as much as possible.

255/75/17 SL rated Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S. Quiet as the highway tire, aggressive tread look as a pizza cutter, and low weight due to SL rating. Strong handling in rain and snow. And absolutely killed it on the dunes. Best AT tire for daily driver use.
