A friend pointed out that most of the sliders are ending before the point where the bed meets the cab. If you are in a pickle and happen to need these sliders, then they will still not help you; the truck will slide over the object then try to rip the bed off. What are your recommendations because I need to order some yesterday? Any recommendations and pictures to see what your look is like and the company would be very appreciated!! I rather pay for quality than buy a mass produced item.

The RelationsRaceWheels DOM Bolt-On Rock Sliders come with a full length option that will go all the way to the bed. You’ll have to look it up yourself since their website is blacklisted here for some reason

I have Shrockworks and really like the shape and form. If you needed something yesterday and don't want mass produced, you're in a pickle. Granted it was during Covid, but my Shrocks took over 6 months. Most of these fab shops are backed WAY up...just a heads up.

Any examples of sliders ending where the bed meets the cab?

I’m planning on getting the @WarFab Armor sliders. They tie into the front cab mount for additional support.

Most of them have been doing this for double cab short bed trucks. You have to Look closely at the pictures. It’s a potential major issue if you plan on using them. They do this so they can fit the double cab and single cab truck at the same length.

I'm not trying to be rude but you're going to have to show some examples. I have no idea what you're talking about. Just link me one and describe on that specific set of sliders what you're seeing

    He's talking about this gap

    upload_2021-3-26_13-42-9.jpg

Unfortunately, the frame goes up and over the axel in this area, so there's really no way for that rear portion of slider to be supported. Sure, they could make the slider longer to close the gap, but that unsupported tube can and will bend... into the body that it's trying to protect.

Some companies try to brace this area... but even they don't have "full" coverage.

    upload_2021-3-26_13-43-58.jpg

I think most companies rely on the concept that usually, your back tire will encounter the obstacle and raise the body off of the slider, before it gets to that point...

You could buy a full weld on kit like 4xinnovations and mount them exactly how you please.

I think that space is so small that it would take a knife-edge rock to fit in there. Anything else your rear tire will contact before it leaves the slider. I think you guys might be over thinking it... But then again, I'm just some dude on an online forum! :D

I would propose there are exactly 0 beds that have been “ripped off” due to that gap as OP suggested. If anything, there’d be a 500 page thread about it here on TW. Haha.

Agreed. I've been here long enough to know it's a non-issue. Most people would have the forethought to stop driving forward, if they dropped their sliders onto a small narrow object, that could fit in that gap....
