    I read that supposedly it means distance in meters, 1 footprint is within 100 meters, 2 is within 200, 3 is within 300.

    That only happens when there are server issues. It seems to have gotten better over the last two days. Hopefully it will be gone all together within the next few days

    Even if they don't upgrade the servers a lot of people are going to stop playing pretty soon once the hype dies down and that will make the game run much smoother
