Which also reminds me, people talk about the "click" and the "chirp". These are two different issues, right?

Mine chirps which I believe is the bearing, since I've disassembled it twice and a drop of motor oil on the bearing always stops the chirp for about 3 weeks. Sometimes changing the fan speed stops it for a few minutes too.

People talk about this click and adjusting screws, but I've never heard what I would call a click or tried that solution.

If I remember right, I believe 87103-04044 is Toyota's the 4th or 5th attempt at this blower motor. I think the first year 2nd gens shipped with a part number ending in 04040 and there have been 04041, 04042 (?), 04043, and 04044 since. Supposedly, they finally got it right with the 04044.

Question for you guys who have replaced with the oem? I just did mine and the cover does not fit now. The new motor has holes for the wires to click in for the harness. So it looks like the cover is no longer needed has any one else had the same

I'd have to look up the part number but I went with an OEM replacement when mine started chirping and I haven't had an issue since. I did it close to 7-8 years ago.

My OEM one has made noise forever... just sick of it, ordered a TYC from Amazon and might even put dynamat on the walls of the box when I install it and try to pull apart and rework the OEM one for later

There's nothing in there. I pulled everything there was one leaf and that is after I took it out. I was fully expecting a family of rodents to pop out, thank goodness there wasn't any.

I feel like that's a significantly more aggressive sound coming from your motor than the higher pitch chirping I've heard. Hope the TYC motor fixes it.

there seem to be mixed reviews on the aftermarket motors from what ive read but they should be quieter than the one in that Vid

My TYC motor that I took out was definitely louder. The new oem one is so quiet now

just put in the TYC. It definitely has a different sound, more like an electrical interference sound. The air flow is a little bit less but definitely much quieter than the one that came out.

Mine went out this morning but, after reading the threads I gave the motor a knock with my palm... vola she is back in action pushing air threw the vents.

Sounds like it's on its way out. I need to lube mine as it is doing the cricket sounds.

I've had a TYC for a year and a half, now it sounds like a bearing in it is bad. Annoying sound but it still works. Will get OEM next, at least OEM lasted 6 years until the blade cracked.

Got 210k on the oem so far. When my motor does go I'll get oem again.
