I like the look of the VW Amarok looks pretty cool... but it only has 4 cylinder options.

I also like the look of the global ranger probably because I think the ranger really needed an update and it's just nice to see something different.

I read somewhere the other day that Mitsubishi as a brand may be on it's way out in the US.

I kind of disagree with many folks' perception of the Tacoma outlook. While my father-in-law has a 2010 DCSB, my next door neighbor has a 2012 Tundra DCSB, and let me tell you, my father-in-law's Tacoma in no way, shape, or form even comes close to the amount of bed space that my neighbor's Tundra has. Tacoma is a mid-size truck, period, in comparison. Personally I don't ever see my self having the need for full size, I only wish the mid size market would make some of the same advances in MPG.

I almost bought the NISMO S/C version of one, if it wasn't beat so bad I would have.

Yes but that was due to a small Tundra, not a large Tacoma, park that version of Tundra next to an F-150, Silverado, or Ram and you notice a big difference.

It was hilariously bad. As for the second image... the owner is confused with his street wheels and off-road equipment. Granted if he was in a bad rain storm the snorkel may actually come in handy.

If you follow the links in my post you can get the rest of the specs. The exterior dimensions were what I was interested in at the time. I had pulled up behind a 1st gen Tundra at a light and I could see that it was failry close, but that the Tacoma was just not quite as big.

    • According to the lawsuit, more than 100 complaints about the six-cylinder EcoBoost's performance have been filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, though NHTSA hasn't launched an investigation into the issue, nor has Ford recalled any vehicles over those complaints. (The automaker did, however, recall 2013 Ford Escapes with 1.6-liter EcoBoost engines for an unrelated fire risk.)
A similar lawsuit has been filed in Louisiana. The law firm representing the plaintiffs in that case state that "Many Ford F150 EcoBoost owners have reported that their trucks have stalled, shuddered, failed to accelerate and/or entered into limp mode while driving."

    Reading is fundamental!

    Many more than three...

Ford will never take over the mid size truck market, They conceded when they stopped making the Ranger.

If I was going to buy another vehicle that was not a Toyota it would be a Ford. But I'm not.

    Ford Meh!

That VW Amarok actually looks pretty interesting. Here's a military version:

ford will not do it. they have said they wont. why? because it will hurt there F-150 sells and well they don’t want that to happen. Thats also why they just stopped making the ranger in the US instead of bringing that here now.

Agreed. The dbl cabs are pretty much full sized. I parked between a Suburban and a 4 door Silverado at work recently. My dbl cab was a good 12" longer than the Silverado and 6" longer than the Suburban. Try it yourselves, I kid you not......

1st Gen Tundra was remarkably close to the F150 of that era.

So much so that there were rumors (among people who did not know any better) that FoMoCo actually built the Tundra for Toyota.
Other lines heard were that the Tundra was copied from the F150, even though the T-150 concept truck was shown at auto shows 2 years before the F150 was released.

DCLB is a long beast, no doubt... but notice how much more nicely you fit in the parking spot than the Chevys?
