I'm still not too sure how the tool grandps has works anyway. Kind of like a glorified Compass?

Better to ask what I have not done.
Its like a triangle with one of the points being a marker and the other two sliding on the edge of the fender to keep it spaced out correctly. If you had a compass of sorts it would only have one point sliding and that can change your length unless you can hold it tangant to the fenders edge

Just put the tires on, go out and jump it, cut everything that is bent, pretty simple.

Sounds like a pretty simple concept to me. Any idea where I can find a link to make one?

    Top is marker

Bottom two are your pegs. They can be anything that fits in the hole (thats what she said) and then you can make it out of a peice of wood or card board or what ever.

the idea was to just soul cut them, then measure and cut the plastic flares really well and remount those. after that, i'd go back and touch up the cuts on the metal fender and do something pretty and such to seal it. That hasn't happened yet.

Just about. I tried to follow the fender line. Might have taken more off the front because of my lack of a front bumper as a guide. I just decided to not make an effort to try and clear it. This pic kinda shows the line I cut

Looks good, but we will measure for mine Lol

Edit: why don't you have a front bumper?

I think I'm starting to change my mind about buying the Cooper STT maxxs. It looks like I can by the BFG KO2s for almost $400 cheaper for a set of 4

That's my thought. The Cooper's look super cool and would be awesome for off-roading but other than that, the BFG's are better in every way
