    Skinny is better for snow. And driving on the road it's very minimal. For instance If you look at a semi truck they are not that wide. You will always skid tires if you lock up the brakes no matter what size. You don't get any better breaking with wider tires until large jumps in width change. Your weight and how it acts braking is what makes the big difference.
