You can def check it or I can grab a measurement to reference. Being on that seat back bracket its right at the same height as when you fold the seat back down while leaving access to the storage bin on the floor. The door will not open fully without lifting the platform. For me it provides a decent amount of space under the platform. I currently store things I rarely need to get out in that storage cubby since it has to be small enough to get in and out with the platform down or I have to pull the dogs out so I can lift the platform.

I'll bring the fridge so I can check the fit. Easier than measuring.
I don't store anything on top of the fridge, so that's wasted space. When we're camping, the extra storage space would be nice.

That was my #1 complaint about living in Ft Worth and Arlington. No public land to go to. Grew up going to Trinity & 360, but that's out of the question now. Hidden Falls and Bridgeport are decent, but not enough for more than one or two trips.

I agree. Even Barnwell doesn't offer the exploration and scenery. Good wheeling, but that's it.

Big Bend (NP & SP) is better in that there are dirt roads for miles, but even that starts to get limited.

Colorado and New Mexico are becoming more and more popular.

wife and I used to do BB area for a week or so at Thanksgiving every year. A few great pretty remote camping spots along the river.

We usually spend a week between Christmas and NYE down there.

Wife like saying in the Chisos Basin, so that's where we stay. Usually make several trips to the river though; rafting is fun too.

The temp setup of the fridge is meh. It didn’t fit happily with the seat just folded down so I pulled the lower section that flips forward. @Naveronski sitting on the seat back with the lower section installed the cover on the lid just barely grazes the roof.

After pulling the lower section it’s at an angle that doesn’t allow the driver’s seat to sit in my preferred position. The front is lower and the back sits higher causing the lid to rub the roof when it’s opened.

I will likely build a platform using the hinges from the seat bottom with spacers lifting it up a bit to keep the storage space usable. Also pulling the storage bin from the rear wall should help.

Using the seat hinge/mount from the seat bottom will be a good plan

Nice. Thank you for those. I’ll compare them to Jason’s tomorrow.
Luckily everything is super quick to remove.

It shocked me how light it is even fully stocked. Not having an extra 20lbs of ice makes a big difference.

It will fit about the same in my truck as in those pics. possibly a little closer to the ceiling that you could get back if you mounted it on the "front" of the bracket. I put it on top or what would be the back of the bracket and used either 1/2" or a 3/4" board. I cant remember but it can hold a couple hundred lbs without flexing aka 130lbs in dogs and a small female.

Spent a bit of the afternoon changing out the rear camera mount in the tailgate with a blank plate and replacing some poorly installed rivnuts for the tailgate.

    The old

Hopefully it will cut down on water and dust intrusion to the inside of the tailgate. The part number for anyone else that’s interested is 67199-04010.

Just saw a new thread and I always think its funny when people think they use their truck off-road 50% of the time.

Some stats from my recent off road excursions:

Arizona: 1,163 miles between the pre trip fuel up and the port trip fuel up. 79ish miles on dirt, most of that dirt was well maintained gravel roads. About 7% of the trip on dirt.

Valley of the Moon: 158 mile round trip on the freeway, between 10-14 miles on the dirt, between 6-9% off-road.

Otay Mountain: 60 miles from the house and back, 17ish miles on the dirt, about 28% off road.

Plus this is my daily driver so even though for those three trips I was at 8%, the 20 mile round trip to work 5 times a week and all sorts of other mileage that piles up probably drives me below 2%.

Even if you have a dedicated trail truck, if you don't tow it, you likely put vastly more pavement miles getting to the trail then off-road.

There's a reason I ran two sets of tires when I was in Texas, without a garage I've just been burning up the big kid tires but I also go on trips more often now than I used to. Will probably go back to that setup when I have a garage again.
