    More parts!

    20220406_134719.jpg

A factory knock sensor/wire as a "just in case" because apparently, they get brittle over time and can suddenly fail.

Some high quality silicone hose to replace many of the cracked lines I have currently.

The thicker, pre-cut pieces are meant to replace the low pressure power steering lines as one of mine is leaking.

Last but not least, spare rear lower shock mount bolts, in case I break the set that's currently in place.

I was not able find them locally when I was looking. Found some gates and end up ordering online for continental hydraulic hose.

Cost me a pretty penny, not going to lie, but I got it from Joey at Wit's End.

They're pre-cut for the specific lengths needed to replace the factory hoses. OEM are available, but these are much nicer so I said fuck it.

Gates is definitely good stuff though. It's what I used for my transmission cooler on the 4Runner.

I went like 2 years with no blinds. Sucked. Ended up using those home depot ones off shelf and they turned out really nice. kinda cheap if you don't have 30 windows. lol

I drove by the house today, you know to see if the city had their inspector out today, and one of the houses at the beginning of the block had blinds already!

Fuck, sucks having to wait so long as the inspection is the last thing needed for us to get our keys. Until then, we still can't make any big purchases.

Least I bought a little welding table, the one from Harbor Freight.

    Yep!

First order of business is going to Salinas (2.5hrs each way) to pick up the stuff we'd need from my storage there. Can only do such a run on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Inside joke about my storage really; I've found guns, car parts, money, ammo-making supplies, and more shit that I completely forgot I owned.

At the same time, I had stored everything from King shocks, 4XInnovations sliders, and more, cause it was all shit I hadn't installed in the 4Runner I had :violent:

That's why this LC will get any and all parts installed soon after I buy them versus getting tossed into oblivion with the rest of my stuff :luvya:

    A shitbox isn't a shitbox without a CEL right?

    20220407_171521.jpg

Responsible owners however, always carry an OBD scan tool in each of their cars

Got the light this morning on my way to school, so once I arrived I quickly ran the code reader; P0325 for Knock Sensor Bank 1.

Seeing as how I would have school for several hours, followed by work soon afterward, I decided to wait until after work to pop the hood.

Fortunately, when I posted about it @Speedytech7 was quick to post this picture depicting their location; there's 2 total, circled in Red and Blue.

    PIC_0759.jpg

I cannot make this up but that package I received yesterday actually includes a plug for the knock sensor. I bought it "just because" after stumbling upon a common issue with these vehicles some days back.

So I decided to wrap up early at work and check under the hood as by now it should be "cold" enough to stick an arm in there. That's when I was presented with this; a plug without a wire.

    20220407_171224.jpg

Apparently, the plug is tied in to a main harness, and cannot be purchased separately. So what Joey at Wit's End does is he sells a harness offered by Toyota, and suggests cutting and using the section that offers a replacement plug.

    20220407_173312.jpg

Hoping this new plug end will give me many more years of trouble-free service!

Should be replacing it tomorrow, and take a stab at replacing several vacuum lines.
